It has been almost 5 months since Penguin Air installed my split system. I researched several systems before deciding on the Goodman brand. Their warranty is the best that I could find. I believe that the secret is to find a competent installer who will follow the manufacturers installation instructions.
Penguin Air agreed to do that. Tim G[redacted] assured me that any problems would be fixed without hesitation.
The unit has operated without any problems and the compressor is much quieter than my previous system. Everything is functioning as designed and I particularly like the thermostat selected by Penguin Air. It is WiFi connected and I use it frequently when traveling.
I shopped around and had estimates submitted by five contractors. Penguin Air was by far the lowest and offered the best after installation warranty/service than any of the others.
There was no "up-sale" push of any kind. In fact when I asked for a new "line set" to avoid any incompatibility with the old style freon, they advised against it due to unnecessary cost and assured me that the existing line set would be cleaned before it is refilled with the new style freon.
