PBF CONSTRUCTION

I located a General contractor via online who is LLC. The contractor was a referral so I went online and reviewed the contractor for a year. I finally decided to go with this particular contractor after multiple contractors came out to my home and assess the repairs I needed done. Mainly bathroom renovation after a major leak. The contractor assessed the work and I added my comments on what I wanted done as well. Contract was drawn and sent via email and I signed and paid 75% down payment. That is steep for a down payment but I trusted the contractor that a job would be done correctly since every process of the job is posted publically on their business website. I automatically let the contractor know I am new to repairs and if I can be worked with during this process. Everything was understood on both sides.

The job started on 09-DEC-2019 a full gut of main and only bathroom in my home. I was told the job would take 10 business days since they do not work on the weekend. That was said after contract was signed. I was told to build a pro account at home depot and pick out all the items I needed for the job and they will be purchased from the pro account (Tiles (shower and bathroom floor), bathtub, shower head, shower door, vanity sink, toiler, mirror, 3 faucets and light fixture.) Contractor stated the old Radiator will be removed and replaced that was not on contract but verbal agreement. Meantime I stayed in a hotel through the process, which we only take 10 days. The job ended on 26-JAN-2020. Nothing was purchased from pro account. I constantly had to text product items and return to home depot multiple time to physically look at items for quality. Items were purchased in another state (no sales tax) so items were not available at that particular home depot. Contractor redeemed job complete on 26-JAN-2020 BUT IT WAS NOT COMPLETE. Bathroom has not shower door (tub and shower sits separate) . Contract states purchase but will not install. I’m confused. Radiator was not replaced, items that was supposed to be purchased was stated as purchased but never received. Box tub was in, is sitting in my living room full of trash piled up. Contractor stated they want the balance of their money and never spoke on any other repairs because the bathroom was render complete and functional. As of 24-FEB-2020 water is leaking from drain pipe and pipe behind shower faucet wall. Contractor stated 10 day job and rendered complete 35 days later and counting. So In total I paid 75% of the contract bill and 7 weeks in a hotel and they are asking for the remaining of the balance. Also they added an addition $900 to fix the real problem of the leak. That was paid in full.
