Tell us why here...Good morning,
Regarding complaint #***, and I know the situation and the person well, I have the following info for you
1) He only visits the dealership when his preferred mechanic (*** ***) cannot do the work or diagnose the vehicle
2) He prefers *** *** because
their labor rate is much cheaper
3) Every time, (not just this series of events), the Service manager and myself need to be involved because it turns into a discussion about price and how we must have damaged something or it should be under warranty etc
4) In this series of events he brought the car in on 8/with a concern about the fuel gauge not reporting the correct amount of fuel intermittentlyWe followed a Volvo technical journal that recommends software as the fixWe downloaded the software and it seemed to have fixed the issue although it was always intermittent
5) We then recommended a timing belt and tensioner replacement as it was over due for this maintenanceI’m glad that we did as I can’t imagine the phone calls that I would have received if we didn’t recommend it and the belt were to breakAfter much attempted negotiation on the price he agreed to do the timing beltHe did ask us to look over the vehicle for other possible expenditures and none were reportedThe total charge for timing belt and software was
6) On 9/we saw the vehicle again as the fuel gauge was still not reporting properlyWe then diagnosed it as needing a fuel pumpWe credited what was paid for the software download and offered additional discount on the fuel pumpHe paid and we paid This fixed the issue
7) On 10/25, some days later, we saw the car for an oil leakWe diagnosed it as an exhaust hub sealThe seal was not leaking when we did the work and was not leaking when we drove the car after the timing belt job was completeIf it was I am sure that we would have heard from him prior to 10/We informed him of the diagnosis and he accused us of damaging somethingThere is nothing that we can do to make a seal start leakingWe did offer more goodwill money due to the situationThis time we discounted the job and he paid the only reason his bill was that high was he chose to replace the intake hub seal while we were in thereHe still wasn’t happy and pressured us to do a free oil change for himIt was over due for that too
8) Bottom line is we spent of goodwill money on someone who is not appreciativeHis total expenditure was He was in a complimentary loaner while we worked on his carWe cannot afford to work on this guys year old car any longerI only do it every few years, but I am firing him as a customerUnless there is a problem with work that we previously performed and warranted, we are done working on his vehicle and no refund will be madeI resent the term bait and switch as it was definitely not the caseI would imagine a bait and switch is done with a profit motive and based on the that was contributed on our part, profit was clearly not involved

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: He is correct that I only go to them when needed but not for the reason he statesWhen I bought my car they had dealership minutes from my homeThey closed it soon after I purchased itWhen they closed it, they were now minutes away on a good day. Also, there have been many issues with this car that they never seem to fix right the first time and I always spend more time and money on. The only reason I went this last time is the fuel gauge issue could only be done at a Volvo dealershipHad I known the nightmare that would result from this decision I would have never gone. He considers me a bad customer, but the real issue is a history of bad work on a lemon they sold me. Unless there is an issue with these recent fixes of course I will not go there again. I sick of dealing with rude people that cannot do a job right the first time. They are so concerned with their goodwill money, yet I shelled out a whole lot more based on bad information and bad installation. I have no record with Revdex.com of ever filing a complaint against any business. This man just cannot accept that they made mistakes and own up to them. In the end they made money off providing me bad info and he is unhappy because I actually am standing up for myself and not giving in until this is taken care of. Though I feel I am owed the entire amount back, for the sake of ending this I would be willing to accept half of what I have been seeking. I think it is a fair offerI will also assure him I will not use their dealership again (unless an issue comes up with the recent work which I pray does not happen as I want to be done with this chapter).
Regards,
*** ***
