I do not even give one star. Took our dogs to be boarded while away. One got sick while away and needed a hospital visit. Got back from vacation and both dogs were sick needing to go to go to the vet. One got kennel cough and the other who was sick while there had conjunctivitis and ear infection. Our young pup continued to get worse. Found out he ate some bedding that he apparently shredded only because we found it and questioned it. They failed to tell the hospital that he ate it as well. Needless to say our young pup lost his fight and went into failure. We left two healthy happy dogs in their care and that is not what we came back home to. Not to mention they never even called to see how they were doing after getting home. I would never and will never leave a pet in their care.
We at PCCT are so sad about the situation with Bo. We were in full contact with the owners the whole time Bo was in our care, brought him to the emergency clinic for the owners, as they were out of town and did all that was told to us by the vet. We moved him into a quiet room, and my staff stayed late feeding him chicken and rice by hand, to make sure he ate, and felt better. For the next few days, Bo bounced back, and the report cards and pictures we have of him show how happy and playful he was. His tail was wagging and he was happy to see his Mom and Dad when they came to pick him up. It was not until almost a month later that Bo passed away, due to an illness that did not come from our facility. We requested a visit from the town animal control officer since the incident and nothing was found, and our cleaning protocols exceed the standard. We've also spoken to several veterinarians about the disease that took Bo's life, and none of them believe this disease could be contracted from a boarding kennel. We did all that we could do for Bo, based on our dog knowledge and experience and have had no other cases like this since we opened our doors. We take great pride in the care we provide the pups that utilize our services and have tons of happy customers that have been coming to us 5 days a week since we have opened. We understand that losing a dog is hard, and our deepest condolences go out to the family. However, we do not feel that we are to blame for his death, and we provided all that we could for him.
