Pawprints by Penny is a caring, knowledgeable and dog loving environment!!! I have a almost 3 year old labradoodle with a higher than average energy level. They evaluated his personality and interaction with other dogs before his first day. They have taught me so much about my own dog! Jenn does a fabulous grooming as well. I can’t say enough good things about all the staff at this trusted facility. They make you and your dog feel like family!!!! I pray they survive this pause!!!!! Thank you Pawprints!!!
I would like to leave some kind words about Pawprints by Penny. We have been customers for a little over 13 years. When Penny first opened, she had a small store front on Niagara St. and we immediately felt at home. Penny offered to take my puppy on several occasions for FREE to get him used to the environment. She would keep Jordan for an hour or so and she would buzz theclippers and snip the scissors by his ears and brush him and ran the water around him etc. This allowed him to get used to being away from, while being with Penny and getting used to the sights and sounds of the groomers. This was always for FREE and she did this for 3 months until he was ready for his first hair cut. When she gave him his first bath and trim, she took pictures and saved a lock of his fur and presented me with a little photo of Jordan in the tub and then if him finished with blue bows in his ears anda lock of his fur! Such a beautiful touch!
Later when I acquired my second puppy shedid the same thing for London. Now London is Penny’s sidekick when she goes to the shop! I have now sent both dogs consistently between 5-7 times per year and have had their teeth cleaned, nails trimmed, ears cleaned oht, *** glands drained, bathed, and clipped and cut for a little over 13 years for Jordan and 11years for London. I truly feel as if the entire staff are family now. I wholly and completely trust them with my pets and believe they treat my dogs as their own!
Pawprints by Penny runs a stellar operationinaneclectic neighborhood. They have now expanded into two locations and have a daycare with a pool and outdoor playground. They have been recognized and wonawards as well. I am proud to know the staff at Pawprints and I believe they should be recognized for outstanding service in our community.
Thank you so much for your kind words. As always the dogs that come into our facilities are our primary concern. We will continue to do our best to enrich their lives and educate caregivers. I also wish to take this opportunity to mention how much I appreciate the customer loyalty base I have. It is because of them that we are able to better serve the community, create jobs, and also volunteer our services for free to shelter and homeless dogs and cats. Thank you again.
Sincerely,

I TOOK MY 7 POUND TOY POODLE TO THIS PLACE ON 12/15/2017 FOR A TRIM AND BATH. I MADE SURE TO COMB AND BRUSH HIM BEFORE I TOOK HIM IN AS THEY ARE ALWAYS CLAIMING THAT HE IS MATTED. I HAVE GONE TO THEM BEFORE BUT STUCK WITH THEM TRYING TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO PROVIDE ME THE SERVICE THAT I AND MY PET DESERVE. ONLY A FEW TIMES THEY HAVE COME CLOSE. MY POODLE HAD NOT BEEN SEEN BY THEM SINCE EARLIER IN 2017; I SOUGHT OUT OTHER PLACES. I TEND TO GO BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN GROMERS; WHICHEVER IS CONVENIENT AT THE MOMENT; SO THIS PAST DECEMBER I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE THEM ANOTHER TRY BECAUSE THE GROOMER "JEN" HAVE BEEN SOMEWHAT UNDERSTANDING IN GIVEN ME WHAT I WANT; BUT THE MANAGER "PENNY" IS ABSOLUTELY VERY RUDE AND NASTY. SO I DROPPED OFF MY DOG, I TOLD THE GROMER JEN, THAT I KNOW HE MAY HAVE A FEW MATTED SPOTS BUT ITS NOT ALL OVER AND SHOULD NOT WARRANT A SCALPING TO THE SKIN. PLEASE DONT CUT HIM DOWN TO THE SKIN. WELL I COME BACK TO PICK HIM UP AND WHAT DO I FIND; THEY CUT HIM DOWN TO THE SKIN; NOT TO MENTION WE'RE IN ZERO DEGREE WEATHER!!! FIRST THEY COME OUT TO GET PAYMENT; INSTEAD OF BRINGING MY DOG OUT FIRST; THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FIRST; I KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHY THEY WERE DOING THIS; BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THEY HAD CUT OFF ALL HIS HAIR; SO I ASKED IF I COULD SEE HIM FIRST; SO THE CLERK GOES IN THE BACK AND THE GROMER JEN COMES OUT; I REPEAT; WHERE IS MY DOG, I WANT TO SEE HIM FIRST; SHE GOES IN THE BACK AND THEN RETURNS WITH ANOTHER GROMER; THIS GROMER IS HOLDING MY DOG; AS THOUGH NOT TO GIVE HIM TO ME BUT TO JUST LET ME SEE HIM; AND I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE CUT; THEY WENT ON TO DEFEND THEIR POSITION AND SAY THE DOG WAS MATTED. MEANWHILE, I AM TALKING TO JEN AS SHE IS CASHING ME OUT AND THEN THE OWNER COMES OUT VERY NASTY AND MEAN STATING "SO YOUR NOT GOING TO PAY" I TOLD HER YES I AM PAYING BUT I HAVE A RIGHT TO SEE MY DOG BEFORE I PAY. SHE ANGRILY STATES "WHY DID YOU COME HERE, WHY DIDNT YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! YOUR DOG WAS MATTED; WE'RE NOT GOING TO TORTURE YOUR DOG!!! I SAID BUT YOU DOINT MIND SCALPING HIM!! SHE TOLD THE GROMER JEN, TO NOTE ON MY ACCOUNT NOT TO SERVICE ME ANYMORE; BUT THAT WAS OK BY ME, BECAUSE I HAD NO INTENTION ON RETURNING, THEY HAVE TAKEN MY MONEY AND HAVE PROVIDED POOR SERVICES TO ME FOR THE LAST TIME; AND THEY'RE OVER PRICED. MORE WORDS WERE EXCHANGED, I CANT REMEMBER ALL BUT THEN I JUST WALKED OUT OF THE SHOP.
Pawprints By Penny &Co llc. has been in business since Nov. 15th 2003. We have grown from a 450 sq.ft. storefront with myself as the sole employee, to a knowledgeble, caring, well staffed facility with two locations and 16 employees. It is not in our best interest to have unhappy customers. As I have done very little advertising our growth is primarily due to word of mouth. We regularly groom dogs and cats for The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and are fully endorsed by area veterinarians. We strive to have the pets that come to us go home smelling fantastic, looking fabulous, and feeling amazing, both mentally and physically. All of our prices are listed in the lobby so people can make a well informed decision to have us groom their dog or cat and there is no pressure involved. Prices are competitive and actually a lot lower than other establishments. We also have a "Groom Club" discount which enables you to receive five dollars off when you make your next six week appointment! There is an upcharge for severe matting, aggression, or pets with fleas and/or feces on them as they may need additional time, handling and cleanup. When a pet arrives for grooming we discuss in advance what the owner would like and what we are able to do. Unfortunately this particular dog had not been in, or groomed, since August. To brush out the coat would have been indescribable torture for this 7lb delicate poodle. It can also lead to him becoming defensive and aggressive. He had bitten in the past and although he is small, bites are very painful and lead to a stressful experience for all. It makes me very sad that the only alternative was to clip him down on a cold winter day. I could not help but wonder why she would wait until then to bring him in. She agreed to have him groomed and left. We also offer brush outs and baths to help maintain pets between regular groomings. We usually cash out clients before bringing pets up as it reduces chaos if another dog arrives, transactions can be done quickly and efficiently, and then owners and dogs are happily reunited. So this is not abnormal and we did not single her out for any other reason. As she was becoming more demanding and irrational and I could see our many attempts to please her over the past few years and keep her pet and my staff safe, I reccommended that she would be "Happier frequenting another grooming establishment".I feel that we have gone above and beyond to groom her dog and also to make her happy. We have given her the opportunity for discounts and would gladly help between haircuts so her dog would not have to be so short. I can only hope she is able to find a groomer that is able to work with her as our pets are only with us for a short time and deserve to be treated well and cared for properly. Also keep in mind, they are living breathing feeling creatures that cannot speak for themselves. Humanity before vanity.Best regards, Penelope L owner/operatorPawprints By Penny & Co. llc.
