Review: Some time in late October 2013, I took my 1994 Chevy Camaro to Pavcic Automotive Service to be inspected. I asked them if they were able to service "sports cars". They replied, "Yes." I drove it over to their service center to make an appointment, and was told that I could leave it with them. I needed a ride home, so a woman rode with me back to my home, and then drove the car to the garage. While we were in the vehicle, I explained that the car had been "sitting" for awhile, and might need some work to bring it to "code" for inspection. I told her VERY specifically, that I did NOT want to spend a fortune repairing the car. I said I only wanted it inspected and an oil change done. If they determined that there were extensive problems with the car, FAIL the inspection, give me an estimate to repair the vehicle and I would come back. They had my car for about three weeks, NEVER told me how much the repairs were, or asked me if I wanted the work done. I had checked in with them, several times, to inquire about the progress. When they called me to tell me that my car was finished, I was shocked to hear the bill totaled over $800! I went to pick up the vehicle, and saw that they had charged me for a new battery. I disputed this charge, since I had purchased a new battery in Dec. 2012. They took it off my bill. Their behavior, however, made me suspicious. They did NOT have my core, and they seemed nonchalant about the dispute. After having the vehicle towed home, I drove it for a few days and immediately began smelling gasoline. My windshield wipers were not "recessing" and I had no fluid. I then made an appointment for an independent evaluation. The dealership determined that the gas tank had been removed recently, the cowling for the washer was damaged, and the water pump was bad. The cost for these repairs are about $2100. Finally, the "new" battery has already needed re-charging.Desired Settlement: A full refund of charges, except the inspection fees.
