Review: The offices of Farkas, Kassalow, O.D. took my husband and I, two new patients, on 12/**/2013. As new patients, the office failed to explain that they do not accept any health insurance, and are a cash-only practice. They failed to explain this twice to us: once over the phone when making an appointment, and secondly when they first took our name/address as new patients. We were only informed they do not accept insurance at the very end of the exam. We have already paid $400 total in charges for "New Patient Dilation/Refraction" fees.

As an insurer, if they were forthright in explaining their billing practice either on the phone, or in person before the exam, I would have never chosen to continue with the exam.

It is my opinion that they willingly withhold the fact they do not take insurance, until too late. The office should be much more forthcoming about this.Desired Settlement: We have already paid $400 total in charges for "New Patient Dilation/Refraction" fees and would like the $320 in remaining fees waived.
