The patient has received a letter from their Insurance stating " Service Request may be subject to Beneficiary (POS) Point of Service charges. The POS option gives the Tricare Prime Beneficiary the opportunity, with an out-of-pocket cost and to help avoid these out-of-pocket
charges, the beneficiary's PCM must submit a new service request for the following specialty careIt is the beneficiary's responsibility to contact their PCM" It is the patients responsibility to know and understand the insurance polices for which they signed up for. There is also an option for the patient to appeal with their insurance to reimburse the physician, however the patient refuses to contact their insurance to do so. The billing office has explained this several times to the patient and let the patient know other patients have had the same issue because Tricare changed their policy in December and have had success when they filed an appeal. All of their claims were paid once the appeal was sent to Tricare. Thank you

I understand your frustration, however, it is with your insurance carrier, not our office.  Several of Tricare patients have had this same issue and it has been resolved with a simple call to Tricare to have them appeal and reprocess the claims.  With the appeal all claims will be paid by your insurance carrier.  Please contact your insurance carrier for assistance with your claims.
