Ordered 15 skip laurel bushes advertised as 5 gallon 4-5' (May 1, 2019). Each one received (May 14, 2019) was between 3-3.5 feet. The root systems of the shrubs did not even fill the pots. I immediately followed their procedures and took photographs of the shrubs along with a tape measure showing the bushes were much smaller than advertised. Also, a sparkleberry holly was broken at trunk. That too was photographed. I sent this information as stated in their procedures (May 14, 2019). The discrepancy between the 4-5' shrubs and next lower 3 gallon shrubs is approximately $275. The cost of two sparkleberry holly was $95.90 I received a pleasant email the next day (May 15, 2019) thanking me and apologizing for the inconvenience. It stated the owner was made aware of the problems, and as soon as a decision was made, they would be in contact with me with a resolution. It has been two weeks now with no contact. Two follow up emails sent by me asking if a resolution had been determined received no response (May 22nd and May 28). Total order exceeded $1400. I can be patient but I do not like being ignored after spending so much money. Only the picture of the broken holly meets the size requirements of 5 Meg for upload. I can provide the pictures of the short laurels by a different means.
On 3/25/19, I ordered 101.67 worth of plants from what I believed was an online nursery, Garden Goods Direct. The first thing that happened was that when I registered an account online, it kept connecting me to the account of a ***. I spoke with *** and she said that my confirmation notice went to her email address. Since I could not retrieve the notice I called them and Rebecca told me my plants would be shipped "at the end of next week," and she sent an email confirmation. *** and I were both disturbed that our private info had been breached, but they assured me that was not the case.
The second issue is that when I looked at my bank statement I noticed Patuxent Nursery had received my money and that I was doing business with them. On 4/4/19 I called asking when my plants would be delivered. Rebecca, the customer service rep, stated rather nonchalantly that she couldn't give me a delivery date, other than it would be shipped "at the end of next week" and that "this was a busy time." This is one week later than she originally told me on 3/25. She said she could not guarantee that I would even get it then as they "were busy."
I immediately asked that she cancel my order, and she told me I could not expect a refund until 5-10 business days. This means that for an order I placed 3/25, I would possibly not get refunded until 4/18. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They are not professional. Their online database is corrupted. They want your money and want to keep it until THEY get ready to ship. It could be months. Then they want to take 2 weeks to refund your money if you cancel. Not cool at all....
