and foremost I would like to say that I did not call the customer an it.
That is a total untruth. When I received his call at 8:40, I did tell him that
the garage did close three hours ago (and there are several signs in the garage
that say so). I then told him that I would need a...

credit card number (for the
day’s parking). At first, he did not want to give me that information. He
replied, “How do I know you’re legit?”
 
I
told him that he called the number on the garage and “I’m the one that will
guide you through this.”
 
He
hesitantly gave me the number. I told him not to hang up and I will get him
into the garage. Then he hung up. And it took me three tries to reach him.
After he answered the phone, I told him not to hang up. I let him into the
garage (remotely). I asked him to stay with me and to let me know when he reached
the exit lane of the garage.
 
Perhaps
I was being perceived as being sarcastic while he was driving through the
garage. But that was not my intent. I was hoping he would thank me for being of
service (since he left so much after the closing time). And if that was
offensive, I apologize. When he said he was at the exit, I did ask to be
thanked. But that wasn’t going to happen. Why he felt the need to mention
calling the police was beyond me. But I did raise the exit door at that point.
