In reference to my complaint of Parkway Automotive MrB [redacted] has been working on my car for over two years he was referred to me by another mechanic and I felt that we had built a layer of trust when it came to being truthful about my car and what work was needed and what could waitI am truly baffled by MrB***'s late response, the request on May 8, was for him to honor the work he just completed on May 2, since the after market exhaust and muffler made a sound when you turn the ignition to start the car and sometimes when you turn off the ignition and he quoted a price to look at his own work! It is true I turned the tune up down since I thought it had been completed in April of so there is a pattern of requesting more money for services that I had requested or to fix the car so that it would run quietly as it was doing beforeParkway Automotive specializes in exhaust systems and if he was not familiar with the replacement parts or the request it should have been statedSince MrB [redacted] refused to guarantee his own work I've since had to pay another company to work on the carMy request was for the refund of the exhaust work of $that would be fair and honorable since that is how I perceived MrB [redacted] for over two years I cannot force him to honor his work but I do hope that he will reconsider and send the full refund.Thank you, [redacted] James

I am writing this letter in response to the complaint by *** ***, her vehicle was brought into my shop by *** and told us he had a concern of having a coolant leak at the engine, so we checked it out and found that there was a leak at water outlet housing, with their permission we replaced
the housing and the thermostat, and flush the system and filled with fresh coolant and verify there was no leaks and the vehicle was running okThe vehicle had no problems with starting and running, as the vehicle was drove to the shop and it was also driven away, Starting & running was not told to us as a problem or did we experience any problems with it starting and running.The customer picked up the vehicle and drove it away from the shopSo a few days later *** called me and said the vehicle would not start and his sister was upset due to just having the car worked onI told him that I would have a tech come and take a look at it, I sent a man to look at it and he found that the vehicle would not jump start or do anything at all, would not crank over or nothing, so I called him and told him that the only thing I could do is have it towed it to the shop to find out what is going on with itBefore the tow company got to it he had another company tow it to usI had my tech run the diagnostic test on it and found that there was a problem with the ignition system and we also found that there was a factory recall on the vehicle for that problem and it should be sent to a dealer for a updated repair and programming procedure which is free to the vehicle ownerI called him and told him of the situation and what should be done, he said they did not want to pay to have the car towed to the dealer so I called the dealer and made arrangements and paid to have it towed to the dealer.I truly feel we have not done anything wrong due to the fact that we repaired the complaint that the car was brought in for and what we repaired had nothing to do with the car not startingI am sorry that car acted up just after we serviced it but it really had nothing to do with what we doneSo I feel that I have done more than what is fair by doing the diagnostic test for free and paying to have it towed to the dealerI feel bad that she is upset with us but I feel I have done the best I can do to be fair about this situation

Business called and stated they will refund the $with a certified check sent directly to customer by end of the week

Dear [redacted] I am very sorry that [redacted] is having the problems with her Honda. She has been a good customer for many years now and I truly feel bad that she is upset and no longer has trust in me & company. I did not in no way try to mislead or do anything underhanded trying to service her vehicle, and if she feels that I did I am very sorry for that. I will not go into all the details of the vehicle coming to us with bent and damaged exhaust system that we had nothing to do with and everything that we have done was explained and authorized. The last thing we want is a unhappy customer and I would very much like to resolve this matter with her being happy, but I feel that I should not have to give a full refund of the money for the exhaust system that was damaged and was not even damaged by us. but when she came to us about a tune up, I did quote her the amount for a tune up, I did recommend for her to do a fuel system cleaning service, and I do believe that she decline to do the tune up at that time and do the fuel system service. But I will refund the money for the cost of the fuel system service of $149.95 PS: Sorry for taking so long to respond I have been out my office on personal matters.  Thank You Joe B[redacted]
