The only thing that the motor does is run the timer that regularly causes the unit to backwash and if it was working, as she claims, it would probably have flooded the garageThe only way to run the necessary drain is to run it around the garage exposed on the ceiling and into the laundry room to discharge at the washer drainI spoke to the man who owns the house and he doesn't want to run exposed pipe in his gagage and there is no other way to do it This softener is old technology and so I offered the owner the option of buying a new whole house water filter system and I would wave the charges that he owes for moving the old softenerWith this new Filter System the backwash drain water can be used in the flower bedsNo exposed piping in the garageSeems like a pretty good deal to meI've called three times trying to get an answer as to what they want to doNo decision as of my writing this
