On September 3, 2016, Ms*** called to report damage to her televisionHer move was on August 21, 2016. After investigating and speaking to our employees, It was determined that *** *** had asked one of our employees at the time, Andrew A***, to come back by the next
day to hang out, have drinks and hang her television on the wallThis was done on his time and not in conjunction with Parker MovingIt was determined that the damage happened by the television falling from the wall, which again was not done by Parker Moving. If her television was damaged on August 27, 2016, I would speculate that she would have called to report it and not attempted to have it installed on her wall the next dayWhen she was Informed that the damage was not due to the move by us, she then stated her bed pole was damaged, and again that was not reported before. In conclusion, Ms*** damage was not caused by Parker Moving

[I was unaware of any CraigList Ad, I was referred to this company by a friendOwners wife (*** ***) stated it will cost $for hours, which sounded responsible to move someone from a bedroom apartment to another bedroom apartment. *** is incorrect on the deposit that was paid, I paid $on December 31, and the remaining balance was to be paid (which is $200.00) on 1/13/2016. I never said anything about I only had $150.00. I explain to Arthur that his wife (***) told me it was only $for hours and she said nothing about an additional chargeAfter going back and forth with the two and the movers holding my items on the truck. I am unable to move anything off that truck, so I felt I had know other choice, so all I had was $cash. My son and one other movers saw me count out $120.00 to Arthur Parker (owner). Then *** calls me back and says she remembers the conversation and I was correct (she had to go back and look at her notes.). My furniture was damage, I have taken pictures of my coffee table, bed, and walls from my old apartment as well. ***/Arthur should refund me my $because I don't like the way I was treated, they saw a single female to take avenage of, probably had the workers take there time so they could get more money out of me, and the fact *** admitted she was wrong. I may have to proceed with further legal actions at this point (I don't like the fact that this company has to lie).
Regards,
*** ***

Response from the company is incorrect. There is a box missing and * of the employees had not worked for the company for * years as he TOLD me it was his first day. Reciept was signed as it was a requirement. I expressed my concern with the driver and was advised I needed to take it up with the owner.

I just received the correspondence in the mail today 9/30. The complaint isn't resolved. The letter that was drafted by Parker moving is not factual. They didn't address the fact that they moved my tv in property without packaging it correctly during transport. The tv was mounted on the wall by a professional handyman and that's when the Crack in the tv was discovered. The handyman was already paid for his service so he mounted the tv on the wall. The mover Keyshawn admitted they broke my bed post and took pictures of the bed and tv when Parker moving sent him out to assess the damage. If there was no validity to my claim then why did they send him out to assess the damage. This company is very unprofessional and shouldn't be allowed to operate. I would like my case to remain open and for them to compensate me for the damage to my tv and bed. Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter. The fact is I paid them for professional moving services and their negligence and lack of expertise resulted in personal loss and damage to my furniture. I can be contacted at 6617172585. I will also call your office on Monday. I'm currently working an assignment out of town.
Review: I am very dissatisfied with Parker Moving Company in Richmond, VA. I spoke Arthur P[redacted] towards the end of December 2015. He was referred to me by a friend. When I spoke with him, I advised him my friend referred me to his moving company. He then told me to speak with his wife [redacted] (not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly. I advised her I never use a moving company before (I have other people move me. She told me she had special for $300 for 5 hours. At that time sound reasonable ( I was going to pay my Uncle & his friend along with a UHAUL the same thing, but they weren't available until the next day. And the move me before and [redacted] advised me they require a deposit, but I can pay it the day (1/13/16). I told her know I will pay it on 12/31/16 via check card. I told her I would pay the remaining $200 on 1/13/16. She said ok, and she told she would give me her best which would be her husband, Arthur. On the day of 1/13/16, 3 people showed (including Arthur for only an hour). They got their at 6:50am. I was living in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, living room, dining room, Kitchen (in the kitchen was a microwave cart with microwave only). They didn't leave my old apartment until 11:35am. They got to my new 2 bedroom apartment until 12:30pm. (It's only a 20 minute drive) Once they (the 2 mover, not including Arthur) got their they start unloading. Arthur got there at 2pm ish, I called [redacted] to pay the $200 and she never answered. I called twice, the one of the movers said you need to call Ms Kita. I advised them I did she didn't answer. I called back and she answered and told she will call from the home phone. When she I gave her my card information. She said she will me back once it went through. She called Arthur and said my card decline, and know that couldn't be true because I put enough funds in my account. I called her and read my information again and decline. I told her let me call my bank. I called my bank ( I also notice no one was working, just standing outside talking) and my caDesired Settlement: Because I had the funds in my account [redacted] tried to run my card for $300. I only owed $200. She said it's $59 per hour after 5 hours. I already paid $100 and only owe $200. Long story short after Arthur arguing with me and her not allowing the movers to get the rest of my items. Arthur/[redacted] said I need to pay $120. I was put in a tight spot, so my son and movers saw me give Arthur cash. [redacted] realize I was right. I want my $120 plus the damage my property. I have pictures. No one answers

The customer had the movers remain an additional 6 hours to put together the furniture. The customer was informed that there would be an additional cost because the movers had exceeded the time frame given of 5 hours. The business told her that it would be an additional $300 for an additional 6 hours. The customer said she only had $150 at the time, which is what was paid. The business said that she did not pay the rest, and they did not pursue it further.
