I recently purchased a new home and was looking to replace the older doors within the home with new doors. When my father had purchased his home a few years ago he brought his older doors and newer doors (purchased at a local home improvement store) to Park Building Supplies in order to have the new doors cut and aligned to match perfectly to the old doors. He suggested that I do the same. About a month ago my husband contacted Park Building Supplies and explained the project we needed completed and asked for the turnaround time as well as the cost per door so we could properly plan our project. When he discussed the information he was given with me I told him that was much more per door than what my dad had paid just a couple years earlier. We called back and were told that was the price for if we purchased the new door from them directly but if we brought the new doors in ourselves the cost would be much lower, actually the new quote was exactly what my dad had paid previously. We subsequently removed all the interior doors in our home and purchased all new doors from our local home improvement store and brought them out the Park Building Supplies. When my husband arrived he was told that they will not mill doors that are brought in, that you are required to purchase the new doors from them. This is obviously not what we were told on the phone as we were given two different prices for each of the two options. I called and asked to speak with a manager. A man came to the phone who claimed to be the owner. He was extremely rude and disrespectful and had no concept of customer service. I explained to him that one of his staff members told me that was something they did and we had already purchased all of the doors. His response was "If we told you that a month ago then we changed our policy last week so now we don't do it." He also told me that because I hadn't written down the persons name that I had spoken with that it was "just hearsay" and that I couldn't prove that I was told that. I explained that I would not remove every interior door from my home and spend hundreds of dollars on doors without having been assured this was a service they provided, along with the fact that my father had it done just a couple years earlier. The owners response was "this conversation is over". Anyone who owns a company should know better than to talk to a customer that way. They do not deserve anyone's business.
