Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/18) */
I am the managing partner of the Eagan Paradise Car WashI personally spoke with the customer involved in this claim on the date of the claimed damageThe scratch on the door of the car was approximately twelve to fifteen inches long running
verticallyThe only equipment in the car wash that makes contact with the vehicle is clothIt would not be possible for any of this equipment to leave a vertical scratch on the vehicle due to the motion the equipment makesThe customer is free to come inspect the equipment at any timeTwo pieces make a horizontal circular motion and the others two don't have the range of motion to even make contact on the vehicle where the scratch is locatedThis was explained to the customer at the time of the complaintShe is welcome to come in and personally examine the equiptment if she would likeAs for not allowing her to watch the video footage of the incident she never made any indication of the desire to see the filmShe actually thanked me for how I dealt with her, telling me that I had been very nice and had tried to help herThere is no way that I can pay to fix damage that I absolutely did not causeThanks
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The scratch on my car is not of vertical orientation, it is somewhat vertical, but also diagonalThe manager did inform me that his equipment does not move in a way that he believes can cause this direction of scratch; I do not know the inner workings car wash equipment, however even if that is the case, a large portion of this car wash is manual and there were many workers in contact with my vehicle, which would introduce a number of additional variables
As for not watching the footage, I will give the benefit of the doubt that the manager did not hear me ask as it just as he turned to walk awayI would still be interested to see the footage however, of both the automated and the manual portions of the wash
I have also obtained a statement from a dealership showing that my car was washed the night before, so it was clean (any scratches would have been visible) and there was no scratch at that timeI did this because I was told by Paradise that the most likely situation was the scratch had been there, but my car was dirty and I therefore was unable to see it
Additionally, I have a statement from a second dealership stating that I picked my car up on the afternoon in question before going to the Paradise car wash and did a walkaround with them at that time to checkout at which point the scratch was not there
While I cannot say if the scratch was caused by an automated or manual process, I am 100% certain that it was caused while at the Paradise Car Wash Center
Lastly, I did thank the manager for his time and for being polite while speaking to me, but I also informed him that I did not feel there was an acceptable appropriate resolution and planned to pursue the issue further; to which he replied that he was the manager/owner so there was not anybody else I could go to within the companyHe did direct me to their website, which I tried to submit the issue multiple times but the process would not finalize
I still do not feel that an acceptable or appropriate resolution has been reached and request that this business return my car to the condition it was in when I brought it there
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/10/01) */
It is physically impossible for the equipment in my car wash to cause a scratch of this natureThe customer is more than welcome, as stated before, to come and look at the equipmentThe time in question when the vehicle is vacuumed and dried has also been brought into questionDuring these processes the only items brought into contact with the exterior of the car are towelsNothing out of the ordinary happened during the customers visit to my facilityThe scratch was not caused by my equipment or my employeesAs I previously stated I cannot pay for repairs to a vehicle that I did not damage
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/11/11) */
The customer did visit our car wash on 10-30-When she pulled up to our sales attendant she asked for her van to be deodorized, as it had some type of farm smellShe did not identify herself as having mast cell activation disease or any
kind of allergiesOur staff was totally unaware that this was her vehicleWhen we deodorize a vehicle there are several different methods we use depending on what works bestIn this case we used an ozone machine and a Meguiars new car scent, as the van had a serious odor problemUpon completion of the deodorizing the customer picked up the van and said she could not drive it because it smelled of fragranceAt that time we agreed to keep the car overnight and try to remove the fragrance smellWe also put gas in her mothers car for the inconvenience of giving the customer another rideThe next morning we used another method to try and remove the fragrance smellIt seemed to work well and we delivered the car to her home after filling it with gasHer husband was home and took the vehicle and said thanks
That evening the customer called our manager and said she could still smell fragrance and wanted a rental car for the next dayHe agreed, and we reimbursed the customer for a one day rental
Of course we are sorry that this happened, but cannot accept responsibility as the customer did not in any way identify herself as being allergic to anythingNo one at our store would know or recognize her from previous visits, as we have serviced literally thousands of cars since that timeWe also do not feel that we have damaged the vehicle in any way, but only made it smell better
We are willing to continue to work with the customer, but cannot buy her vehicle, or give her a rental car for unlimited periods of time
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/11/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Paradise car wash's response is not the entire truthWe brought my van there and requested ozone ONLYDave from Paradise was just at our home at the end of Septand used the ozone machine to try and get a fragrance smell out of our camperHe knew at this point that I have Mast Cell Activation diseaseI knew that the ozone smell would dissipate very quickly because of this experienceThis is why we requested ozone only, not any other kind of deodorizesWe were not told they would be spraying an air freshener in my vehicleWhen we came to pick it up they said they would keep it over night to air out the air freshener smellsThey did NOT get my permission to use a fragrance deodorizerThe following morning Dave called and told me that they had hired another company and they used a fragranced deodorizer on my van and it will get rid of the fragrance smellHe said it would take all smells awayHe knew without a doubt that I had mast cell activation disease at this pointYet, he used this fragranced deodorizer without even asking me or letting me know what it wasThis fragranced deodorizer made my vehicle much worse to the point that I just had to sell my vanI lost almost $2,on what my van was worth and now I have no vehicle at allWhen paradise car wash dropped off my van I was sleeping because I had an emergency visit to the hospital in the middle of the night due to mast cell issuesI was at Paradise car wash to have my van detailed in Augas well and also made them aware of my diseaseI brought my own soap for them to use and they were made fully awareThey knew my name, and it was the same vehicleWe lost $2,on my van and we are seeking for Paradise car wash to reimburse us that $plus $for taxes and fees to purchase another van of the same valueIt's not fair that I have to suffer because of Paradise car wash's mistakeMistakes happen, we get that, but now they need to fix the problemI need a reliable vehicle to get my kids and me to doctor appointments and schoolIf this can't be resolved here, we have sought council from a lawyer and will pursue this matter further
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/11/24) */
We again want to emphasize that when the car was dropped off the customer did not make us aware of her allergy situationNo one at the wash knew of it when she dropped the car off to be deodorizedWe do not as a practice look up every customer's previous visits to see what has been done, or if they need special requestsWe feel strongly that the customer should have taken more care of informing us of her allergic situation
Secondly, in no way did we force the customer to sell their vehicle for less than it was worth
We are sorry that this incident occurred, but cannot reimburse the customer for selling the vehicle for a lossIt seems much harder now to resolve this situation, since the customer has sold the vehicle

I am Gabriel the manager of paradise car wash at [redacted] location. Mr. [redacted] brought to our attention about marks on the pillers on the front windshield. This are not scratches they are rock chips there is nothing in our tunnel that...
could do this. He is a regular customer that has been here for years. So when Prim the Owner look at it he said will would try to help since he has been a regular customer. Then when prim was looking more at his car prim pointed out the scratch on the fender passenger so he didn't know about that scratch till prim pointed it out. All we try to do is help a regular customer but the rock chips or scratch did not happen here. Rock chips come from the roads And the scratch could come from anywhere shopping car. If it happen here the scratch would been down the whole side of car and straight not like 2 inches long and wavy. We do take responsibly when things break or scratch vehicles accidents happen and we will fix it. But when comes to this incident the car wash couldn't do the things that Mr. [redacted] says.

The response paradise car wash has given to the Revdex.com is the same response, that I was given when I tried to present an auto body shop estimate. I had cuts through the paint on both window pillars. Not chips as paradise states.
Paradise refused to give me the name of there business Insurance company. So I can submit a claim. And also let there insurance company evaluate the damage to a 2015 vehicle with less than three thousand miles. Walser Body shop and collision has stated the damage to the same areas on both window pillars
looks like it was hit by a car wash bar.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2015/08/12) */
I have been with car wash company for 15 plus years. To my knowledge I have never seen marks like this the only time I have seen this is from rock chips. We wash 300 cars a day and if it was a bar from the carwash the windshield would be damage also. we do not have bars that fallow cars they are a cloth. If it damage the car why didn't other cars come out the same way. I apologize that we can't come to a understanding that It could not happen here and there nothing I can do we do take blame when things happen here but I'm 100% this did not happen here.
