Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Mike B[redacted]/Brennan's Heating&Air Conditioning doesn't get it,I didn't need to spend $2100.00 for an outside A/C UNIT ,I had one that worked well.In conclusion: I have one last thing to say about Brennan's HVAC. Would anyone in their right mind believe Brennan's HVAC would reduce the cost of an outside Air conditioning unit $900.00 or replaced the compressor at NO CHARGE if they didn't feel responsible.Remember The NO CHARGE Compressor deal was offered after I hired another contractor.

for a 14 year old system. The air conditioning system was fully operational upon leaving the customers house. On June 22, 2016, [redacted] called and left a message at 6:00 pm stating his air conditioning unit had stopped working. On June 23, 2016 at 10:30 am, our technician found the common wire for the compressor had burnt and melted off of the capacitor terminals causing the wire to short out on the cabinet creating the compressor failure. The technician recommended either replacing the compressor or installing a new air conditioning unit. Once the technician left, I called [redacted] to discuss our findings and to further discuss the option of either repairing his existing system or installing a new air conditioner. [redacted] accused the service technician who performed the maintenance inspection on 6/16/2016 for the wire shorting out on his air conditioner. I tried to explain to [redacted] that there is no way his air conditioner would have ran for 6 days, in the first 90 degree heat wave of the summer, if our technician left a wire off. We talked about the fact that a 14 year old air-conditioning system is prone to breakdowns and that the average life expectancy of an air conditioning system is only 10-12 years. With age, wires and wire connectors become pitted and discolored; all of which can cause a wire to overheat and short out. [redacted] elected to have Brennan’s install a new air conditioner at a reduced price of $2,100.00. We scheduled the installation for 6/24/2016. On June 24, 2016, [redacted] called and cancelled the installation and said that he has a friend that works in the HVAC industry that would install a new air conditioning unit for him on the side. In a good faith effort to maintain a healthy business relationship and to show our appreciation to [redacted] for being a long term customer of Brennan’s Heating & Air Conditioning, we offered to replace the compressor at NO CHARGE and we would dispatch a technician to his house as soon as we got off the phone. He would have a fully operational air conditioning system within a couple hours at NO CHARGE. [redacted] declined our offer and said “the wheels are already in motion” and he was going to have his friend replace his air conditioner. To summarize, Brennan’s Heating and Air Conditioning offered to replace [redacted]’s compressor using an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) compressor with a 1 year parts and labor warranty at NO CHARGE. We feel we went above and beyond to resolve [redacted]’s complaint and we are not willing to pay for [redacted]’s decision to upgrade his air conditioner with another company or friend.
