We were given the gift of a new Vestal Stair lift Oct6, My husband has had one leg amputated The
stair lift stopped working Oct We tried to find repair help for what turned out to be a small repair We tried calling our local business several times to get repair with no help or return calls I finally went to the Ameriglide site and put in "repair" and wrote what was the problem I was called 10/or I was told that there was repair in my area and set up an appointment Before we could even make an appointment we had to agree to a $charge for whatever may be repaired We felt limited to this one option and had to agree with the price to get help We do not understand this terribly high price of $no matter what the problem The repairman was in our city so it wasn't the travel cost We were charged on our bankcard after the repairmen left and I cannot find an address or phone number in order to call back and received no receipt as to what work had been doneI had not been home at the time Only my husband was home and did no enquire as to the problem or ask for a receipt The repairman gave me his card so I wouldn't have to pay the "middle man" If we have another problem we will not be going through the Ameriglide company to find a repairman and a fair price
After looking on line to find a company that would install my year old mother in laws a lift I spoke to an Ameriglide rep He wanted a debit card so he could charge the unit to me first or send a wire transfer(Really) Then he wanted me to pay for the install before it was even installedThis must be a pretty weak company if it can't take half on a product and balance and payment for install after the install is done POOR business modelThen when I questioned this he went off on me (RUDE) and hung up on meAfter reading other reviews I'm glad I am moving on to anther company NEVER AGAIN WILL I CALL THIS COMPANY OR RECOMMEND!
I don't like how I call and half the time they dont answer the phone or when they do answer the phone they are very rudeI tell them what needs to be done he tells that they will send someone out and that takes weeksPlus one guy lied to my husband and me about cleaning the carpets before we move in while found out not cleanedPlus I don't like how they don't like not having a emergency contract number or maintenance number on the weekend
Years ago I purchased an AmeriGlide chairlift and prepaid installation The chair arrived, I had in installed on my new steel steps and IT HAS NEVER, I MEAN NEVER, worked I have been in constant contact with them and they assure me that they will send out a new technician (cost me an additional $350) He left saying he had no idea why it does not work so I again called customer service in Raleigh Assured they would get right on it and call within days, my hopes were up Long story short, after the now end of my years of ownership, IT HAS NEVER, EVER WORKED No phone calls returned, no money refunded, no explanation...NOTHING I believe these people are con artists and you need to spread the word Stay away from this company!!!
We purchased a stair lift for my mother who had moved in with us in March at the age of 100.The remote controls for the stair lift never worked and within a very short time the lift stopped working as wellIt took several phone calls, and a threat of suit to get the repairman out He got the lift working, but only for a few days and it broke again It took months for him to come back, only to be told we needed a part He ordered the part and by the time it finally came my Mother had passed away
the last several months of her life she had to pull herself up and down the stairs if she wanted to leave her bedroom Customer service and product quality are horrible

It works perfectly and we now feel safe with Mom and Dad accessing their upstairs bedroom which had been "off limits" for some time. They love being able to use their upstairs master bedroom instead of the downstair guest room. In addition, [redacted] took the time to do a complete review of my parents home and we now understand all the options they have to modify their home so they can age in place.
Great prices and excellent service are hard to come by these days. I can highly recommend Ameriglide as a source for home accessibility equipment.
Sales will promise you anything. I was told it would be installed immediately after it was received to just call the installer once the package arrived. I did. It is now in the third week and no install. I am now told he starts at 11:30 am. I work. This is not a good time for me. When you call the 800 number back it's a crap shoot as to who will talk to you and if they will be helpful. Other times you leave messages. No call back. The price online was $1699 and by the time we were done with tax and install price it was $2,500 and NO refunds. I am calling my credit card to withdraw the payment until it is installed. Fast to take your money, but that's it. If you need a lift contact a reputable hospital supply or an insurance or [redacted] office. NOT Ameriglide.
