Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I take offense to being referred to as ungrateful because this is not a case of buyers remorse I didn't just merely change my mind The stove isn't brand new nor is it what I feel was represented If it is the backsplash that is modified it was not done well It is separating from the back of the stove and does not allow the stove to fit properly There is also a lot of wear on the stove that will require effort to make it right.Our email correspondence was not an intent to say that this stove is acceptable It isn't and we aren't desperate nor are we dishonest We try to do fair business We are asking VCDiscounter to do the same We haven't been saved any time nor money as the stove doesn't fit properly Regards, [redacted] ***

because:The stove was modified It was outfitted with a part that does not belong to that stove VCDiscounters had to drill holes to install this partit is ill fitting (thus the stove is modified) and will not allow the stove to sit up against the wall as it should Before any such part was installed, I, as the consumer should have been consulted The stove, while unused, is so old some parts aren't even available and that should have been made known This stove is not brand new.VCDiscounters will not allow us to return without a restocking fee We are sending back the stove but do not feel that it is appropriate to pay such a fee, nor any shipping costs, because this is not the brand new stove we thought we ordered.Sincerely,*** ***

A simple email or phone call to us or to the manufacturer PRIOR to purchase would have prevented this mistake on their part. We did not recommend this product to this customer for their purpose. We had no contact from them prior to receiving the order which we filled in good faith. In good faith, we incurred shipping costs which will not be refunded upon return of the order.If the customer did not agree with our policies or believe them to be fair, they were completely free to shop elsewhere.We stand by our posted policies that govern this transaction. The stove was brand new when it was sold. The stove was not modified, the back splash that was installed on it was. The extra securing holes are below and on the back and do not in any way, neither cosmetically nor functionally, alter the stove. The year of manufacturer is irrelevant to the new condition. Manufacturer's often sell to their dealers merchandise that was manufactured years before. That is how it is in the appliance industry. If the year model were important to the customer, the complete model number and manufacturer information was provided on the site and we would expect they might have researched it - IF it was that important to the $purchase. The product was never sold prior to this purchase and therefore qualified as Brand New. We know for a fact that the stove is in acceptable condition because we have email correspondence from the customer offering to keep it for a discount. We believe this is a simple case of buyer's remorse for whatever reason they want to return this order and are trying desperately to find a way out of the costs associated with that decision. We really expected the customer would be grateful for the bonus of the back splash which was not promised to be included and for which there isn't much available to replace. We saved them both time and energyThe restocking fee and shipping costs still apply. They may return it under the conditions of our return policy or they may keep it. They may NOT return it for a full refund

We will in fairness offer to pay the cost of the new part but it would be our cost not the retail price of a third party. The customer will need to supply us with the model and serial number of the washer and the old part we will take care of that. The involvement of a third party to service the appliance would not be something we will assume. Our prices reflect a good working appliance and given the opportunity, we would have promptly repaired the unit using our service and parts. We have been in this location 35 years and are open 6 days a week. We have a great reputation in the community and take great care of our customers. There would be no reason it could not be looked at here quickly or exchanged for another machine if we could not get it repaired.I would need the old part back the model and serial number of the unit and a copy of the repair bill after that it would just take a few days to get a part cost refund to the customer.
