Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: we're not sure how to answer his response, since we don't know what he is saying in his response!? On the one hand he says that we were satisfied customers, and yet he says that we are declining him doing the work, not true! We would prefer to negotiate a settlement, but we haven't heard anything. We are happy to work with him on a solution but he has to at least meet us half way. He mentions a contract, please show us one, and please explain your response we don't know what he saying. This issue is still not resolved at this point, we would like clarification.Sincerely,[redacted]
UPON NOTIFICATION OF COMPLAINT #[redacted], PACIFIC PAINT AND DESIGN HAD CONTACTED [redacted] AND MR REESE. A REQUEST TO MEET WITH THEM WAS MADE TO EVALUATE THEIR LISTED ISSUES. Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
We disagree with Tom Minnehan of Pacific Paint and Design’s response for the following reasons;
After he began work on the projects next door, we sent him a message on July 22, [redacted] asking for him to meet us July 24, [redacted] to go over what still needed to be finished. At that time (and Tom can verify this conversation by looking at his text messages from July), we asked him to come out to discuss the renovation of the kitchen and the touch ups he had promised to finish of the paint, the wood trim and the floor tiles. He contacted us on the following Monday, July 27 by phone. He came out the evening of July 27, [redacted] and we discussed at that time what still needed to be finished before he started on the kitchen. It was by no means a final walk through since we wanted to have him finish what we had paid him for and then have a final walk-through.
We showed him what still needed to be done. The replacement tiles were in the hall closet next to the floor that needed to be finished (the second half of the tile project). He agreed and said he would get to and finish the projects ASAP and would get back to us with a time he and his crew could come out to complete the projects. He himself put two check marks on the office wall (that are still there) that needed to be repaired and painted, as a result of damage incurred during the removal of wall paper by his crew. We again showed him the tile on the floor that he already knew about but needed to be finished and touch ups on the wood trim. He also said he would replace all of the wall switch plates that his crew removed and that he would go to the store and get some new ones since they were not that expensive. We had already paid him for all of this.
We didn’t hear from him for a week, so I sent a “Tom???” where are you text message on July 30, [redacted]. He wasn’t responding to phone calls or text messages. On August 3, [redacted] I sent another text message, thinking that he would respond, saying, “Since the paint work, the wood work, and the tile was done poorly, and not finished and the fact that he didn’t replace the switch plates that he promised he would we would like a refund of half of what we paid you!.” All of this is verifiable with photographs as well.
This process was disappointing. We repeatedly tried to call him by phone. Responses were either “He’s not in the office right now” or “He’s on a fishing trip in [redacted].” We sent him a final phone text message in late August. We simply never heard from Mr. Minnehan of Pacific Paint and Design again.
After filing a complaint with the Revdex.com, he wrote us a rather contentious note saying that he couldn’t paint the stair wall because a chair lift was in the way. This statement is rather perplexing to us since his crew did paint the wall. Our complaint was that the old color was coming through the white paint his crew applied. It is also bleeding through other areas as well indicating that inferior paint was applied or applied insufficiently. By the way, we had the chair lift repaired so that he could paint behind it (which he did). In his response note to us, he said that any repairs to what was done would be at an extra cost to us including the installation of the switch plates; everything that we had already paid for. So, he seems to be saying two different things. In his response to the Revdex.com he is saying that we had a final walk-through and were happy, yet in his note to us he said he told us that everything that needed to be fixed and or replaced would be an extra charge, which shows that we were not happy! We already provided pictures to Tom to refresh his memory and an explanation of what still needs to be done.
How in the world could we be happy?! The wood work that he and his crew completed just a year ago has become cloudy and discolored, the paint applied is bleeding through, the tile still isn’t finished, the paint touch-ups are still not completed as promised.
As a result we are requesting a partial refund in the amount of $[redacted].
Sincerely,[redacted]
