I am being harrased by my last apartment for money I do not owe them.

Since moving in I've had nothing but problems with this apartment complex and the staff. To every problem I was reminded I was in a one year lease and could not get out of it. I was told I had an upgraded apartment with Ivory berber carpet and upgraded appliances, on move in date the old stained carpet was tan and the appliances were old and nasty. When I asked for the stainless steel I was promised I was told no, I asked them to remove the nasty appliances and bought my own. On move in day the stained toilets had solid waste in two of them. The whole downstairs had a moldy smell to it that never went away, again when I told them about the issue they were no help. It took them to July to fix the air conditioner, on the hottest days I stayed at my mothers to escape the heat. There was always dog feces near the back patio that I was told they couldn't do anything about it. There was green alge on the sideing that was never cleaned even though I was told it would be. There was a leak in the garage that was never fixed. I was told after I moved in that they missed doing a walk through and apologized for the stained carpet. After a year I couldn't wait to move out and get far away from that dump. I moved out March 31st and received a letter stating I owed $1,562.25 for cleaning and painting that was after my $99 deposit. The statement claimed that I left boxes and bags at the apartment that is not true. I have lived in 4 apartments in the last 5 years and have never not received my deposit back. The letter stated that I had 30 days to pay or a $350 collection charge would be assessed. I am a single woman with nobody but my mother in town and am unsure what to do.
