This so call training is ALL OVER THE NEWS abusing a dog stabbing it with a broom stick !!! Beware!! Goggle news 12

Review: NY Dog works was hired to train my 1 and half year old Golden Retriever. The trainer (owner) who is named [redacted] claims to have a 100% guarantee for his services. I quote from his website "This is a 100% guaranteed program. Your dog will stay with us for no additional charge if we feel that he or she has not learned all that was agreed upon. We guarantee that if there is any regression within 3 months of your dog being back home with you, he/she will come back to us for no additional charge." Well this did not happen. [redacted] was very unprofessional. First he had to cancel when he was originally supposed to pick up the dog. Then he reschedules a new pick up and sends a trainer (not himself). Then tries to collect full payment upfront which was not agreed upon. Once my dog was picked up, [redacted] never contacted us upon safe arrival (all the way upstate - 2 hours). During the week of training, [redacted] promised video of his training sessions. Nothing was ever sent. After numerous attempts,my husband finally got him to send just a picture of our dog to make sure he was safe. Once the week was complete, [redacted] then cancelled his drop off date (claiming car troubles). He kept our dog another week which was not agreed upon earlier. Once we got our dog back, we would contact [redacted] for help b/c we were having difficulty with the commands. Our dog was not following any of the commands supposedly taught. We emailed him, called, texted...would get nonchalant responses. He said he would finally email the training video so we could see what to do...guess what no video was ever sent. [redacted] also stated he would come back to do a mini lesson for my husband who was not home at the time of original drop off...well guess what...no follow up lesson. This man took our $750 cash and what do I have to show for it....my dog ate his bed, my chair, the rug, still jumps, won't stay in "place"...etc.... I am 100% DISATISFIED with [redacted] and his company NY Dog Works. Buyer Beware.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund ($750) in the form of a certified check for the money we spent on this supposed 100% guaranteed service. This whole episode has brought myself and my husband grief and we don't have enough money to hire a new trainer. For the two weeks that our dog was gone, I honestly thought this man took our money and our dog due to lack of communication on his part. I thought we were scammed. In the end, we were.

To whom it may concern,

I have been professionally training dogs for over 15 years, and my clients like me because I produce the results that they want to see with their dogs and educate the owners on the proper way to follow through with the training. I take pride in what I do and every step of the process is dealt with in a professional way. Some people, like the women that filled the complaint, think a dog is like an appliance sent away to be fixed in that it just stays the way it is once repaired. But with our dogs they need to be practiced with on a daily basis so they do not regress. While the dogs stay at my facility the owners are sent daily video feeds so they can see the progress of their dogs training and can get educated on what they will practice once their dog is returned. When I do the follow up lesson I go over everything their dog has learned and then educate the owner hands on the proper way to practice. They are also given a practice sheet that goes over everything that their dog has learned in detail and describes how to practice properly. Once they see that their dog has learned everything as agreed to in our contract the remaining balance is paid from the owner to me. If they where not satisfied with the training they would not pay the remaining balance, That is why its set up that way. So the owner that filled this complaint was extremely happy and satisfied with the training of their dog. Some people like the one complaining about my service do not want to put in the leg work to practice with their dog and try to get their money back. They will make up lies and do whatever they can to do this after we put in all the work we do to train their dog. I have all the videos of the owners dog that filed this complaint showing him successfully completing his training course going over every command that he learned and how well mannered he became. Also I have texts from me to the owner over the course that their dog was here letting them know how well he was doing, what was being worked on that day, and answering any questions they had. In our contract it states that if a clients dog regresses after the training within 3 months that we will take the dog back to get him back on track, “as long as the owners where following though in practicing with their dog” and it was not a reason that I can just work them through by talking over the phone. I stick by my guarantee and keep in touch with all my clients after training to see how they are doing. On my web site are testimonials from past clients stating how satisfied they where with the training of their dog. No one has ever complained.

You need to be a responsible dog owner. People like this are why their are so many dogs in shelters..
