I am responding to [redacted]’s complaint regarding Northern California Surgical Group's billing/collection issue. The patient was billed for a procedure performed by one of our physicians. The patient was apparently unaware of what transpired during his surgery. His wife contacted...
us after receiving a bill and accused us of not performing the procedure. On June 8th, 2016, our physician spoke with her and she agreed that the procedure was performed. We offered to forward a copy of the operative report to the patient and/or the new out of town provider, along with any other information they may request. We sent a request form for them to fill out, but have not yet received this back. As soon as the official request with mailing information is received, we will send the pertinent information. The initial billing was sent to the patient’s insurance carrier on file, a Medicare replacement plan, but they refused payment. The patient’s Medicare information was not given to us until June 20th, 2016. Once received, the claim was submitted that same day to Medicare and we are currently waiting response from them. Thank you for considering this information within the context of this complaint. Best regards,[redacted]Practice ManagerNORTHERN CALIFORONIA SURGICAL GROUPPhone [redacted]Fax [redacted]
