It is true that I do not live in this but my parents are senior citizens, I have chosen to handle this situation for my fatherThe interaction that I had with Richard was less than pleasant would have had an adverse effect on my father’s health. My father did have a heated discussion with Danny, the super, due to this situation, but then realized Danny’s frustration stemmed from the fact that his hands are tied and he cannot help tenants that come to him with complaints because he has no authorization from management. My father and Danny have a very cordial relationship and he was a great help is helping us schedule the repairs that Richard told us have done in the apartment at our own expensiveThese repairs have been completed and paid for. This is not the problem, upon talking to other tenants we realize that we are not the only ones having to deal with this very same issueWe were warned that this same issue was finally corrected for another tenant after many, many complaints and a lot of time. The solution involved major repairs with the plumbing not just replacing the elbow under the kitchen sink. Now on top of having to pay for this repair and a leak caused by a temporary fix ordered by management, now my father has to wait for this filthy water to resurface My father will have to deal with not only the clean-up, that is dangerous to him due to his health condition but also the stress of having to again call Richard and again request that the true problem be dealt with. We are disappointed that it takes this much effort to try have a repair done. If we would have researched a little further a read all of the negative reviews Wilken Management has received, we would not have been so shocked at their behavior
The plumber and Super both have instructed that the unit requires a trap valve installed in the unit, under the sink which would be unit owner responsibilityThe main was cleared twice from the main clean-out andfrom the roofShe was nicely instructed to install the valve, as other units
have, and forward the invoice to the board for reimbursement since she feels this would be the association’s responsibilityThe unit owner refuses to install the valve saying they can’t afford it the repairAs such, her accusations are incorrect I haven’t “washed my hands” of the issue She was just spoken to yesterdayShe doesn’t live in the unitHer father does and apparently her father is quite belligerent to the point where the super will not speak to him. The solution is very simple, but they refuse install a simple valve under their sink
