In regards to the arrival time of our crew of 3 men, the shipper is always called the day before the loading of the shipment and advised that they can expect our crew anytime between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. They are never told that we will be there at 8:30 sharp in case of a delay in...
leaving our warehouse. The big mirror was left at the origin as it was very large in size and our staff will not remove items from the walls in case of creating damage. All shippers are told to take these type of items off the wall prior to our arrival and that the shipper should ensure that the item is packed to protect it from damage while being moved. In regards to the snow blower and lawn mower, both items were filled with gasoline and we will not move these items because we will not transport anything related to dangerous goods with a normal household shipment. This is both for the safety of our staff, our equipment, and the shippers belongings. I have attached our form that is completed and signed by each customer when we go out to the residence to do a visual survey before any local move is completed. You will note that the form is signed by the shipper indicating “Shipper Responsibility”. It states that we will not ship any flammable or hazardous materials on our vehicles. It also states that it is the customer’s responsibility to check his residence prior to our truck leaving to ensure that everything has been loaded. I have reviewed this complaint with both [redacted] and [redacted] of our office. At no time did [redacted] ever go out to the residence to check anything. It is not [redacted] responsibility to do this. [redacted] was only involved in this move as Mrs. [redacted] did not have any money to pay for the move when it was completed and had to call Mr. [redacted] to obtain a credit card for the payment. We were not made aware of any damage to be able to address the damage for settlement. If we did damage anything, we would be more than happy to find out exactly what was damaged and settle the claim satisfactorily with this shipper.
