I, too, had the misfortune to become homelessI was referred to NCC through the homeless HotlineWhat resulted was probably the worst living arrangement I have ever experiencedI moved in during the spring of I left during the summer of We were forced to move during this time a total of times, though I'd heard stories from some of the " [redacted] " residents that this is the norm for NCC - they have had to move every months to a year for failure to pay rent! In addition, as the former gentleman had mentioned, there were FORCED Bible studies every Wednesday night, times on Saturday, and twice on SundayAttendance was mandatory - to miss church service for any reason other than work resulted in spending "a night out," i.ebeing put out on the streets for the night(I could never understand the rationale for throwing a homeless man on the streets for missing a Bible study)To make matters worse, the staff members were made up of some of rudest, most disagreeable individuals I'd ever come across, in a so-called "Christian Home", no doubt! During the summer of 2013, we were on the verge of being evicted again - for non-payment of rent - when I, luckily, found employment and better living circumstances(During those final days, I recall the landlord stopping by to inquire as to the whereabouts of the pastor, who was obviously avoiding him) And, yes, the gentleman was correct in stating that the "pastor" should be arrested, or at the very least, reprimanded by some higher authorityThis man had made it his business to jilt so many men out of payment when they "worked" the fairs and carnivalsOh, I could go on, put time and space would not allow it

I moved in during the spring of 2012. I left during the summer of 2013. We were forced to move during this time a total of 3 times, though I'd heard stories from some of the "[redacted]" residents that this is the norm for NCC - they have had to move every 9 months to a year for failure to pay rent! In addition, as the former gentleman had mentioned, there were FORCED Bible studies every Wednesday night, 6 times on Saturday, and twice on Sunday. Attendance was mandatory - to miss church service for any reason other than work resulted in spending "a night out," i.e. being put out on the streets for the night.
