It has been 2 months and still waiting! We committed and put 2 thousand down on a metal roof in early mid July with Ryan. He told us it would be about 2 weeks to order and get materials and that we should have soon as they would fit us in with rains because we would not have our roof removed but the metal put over it ! ....NOTHING!!! Their customer service SUCKS!!! NEVER have they called us for a heads up ! I called them over 4 weeks ago. Finally got through to a women who stated "You will be NEXT week"....NOTHING ! I called back 2 weeks ago and talked to a women who explained we have had a lot of rain...we have 4 crews...and we are catching up. WE ARE having a meeting today to figure out what we are going to do ! I told her we want some updates!!! We WANT to be kept in the loop ! She stated " YES I will tell them and they will call you and tell you what is going on " .....Crickets !...Nothing!!! I sent a FB text to Ryan asking what is going on on Aug.28th .He responded on Sept..2 stating " We had rains and you are a priority " I get the rains!!! But what I DON'T get is there has to be some kind of wait line we are in??? considering we put down a deposit way back in July??? Where are we in the line of new roofs???? What does " NEXT" mean to you???? I know what it means to me!! Why can't you call us and let us know???? Are you hoping we just go away??? @@ UPDATE@@ It took 6 months to get our roof on!!!!! Lies after lies after lies !!!! After 3 months in they tried to pull a fast one and came one day and started to put on a roof we did NOT contracted for ! They realized they under bid us and was not going to admit it and they started a cheaper roof without our permission and one day when we came home we saw them installing it . We HALTED work and called Ryan . He told us we would have to come up with 3000.00 more to get what we wanted and contracted for. We refused. They dragged their feet for months!!! We had to agree with the metal we wanted but NO pilons and no peel and stick paper. They came and took off our shingles and slapped down cheap paper. Our roof sat for over a month with just paper !!! Causing several leaks inside our house in 10 different areas on our ceilings ! They finally had Mitchell's brother I believe (ONE PERSON ) put on our roof which took OVER a month for him to do!!! The metal sat on our lawn for a month killing the grass...uprooted plants... and 4 nails in our tires.. through Xmas...new years.... . We finally got our roof done !! After the work was done we showed Ryan the damage ceilings .He told us that a person would come out and repair it !!!! NEVER happened!!! Needless to say this was the worst experience ever with a Company we have dealt with! At some point we were no longer a customer but a pain in their *** and they proved it through their actions ! No we do NOT recommend this roofing co. unless you enjoy...stress...headaches...lies...sleepless nights !!!

Ryan came out and gave a through explanation of the work that would be done and I received an estimate the following day. I had no less than 10 estimates before selecting Mitchell and Sons. They were in the middle regarding the price of my roof replacement but I liked the fact they use Owens Corning products and the warranty associated. They began work the day agreed upon and completed the job in two days. The work crew was professional, polite, and hardworking. They thoroughly cleaned up each day and did a great job. The Building Inspector even commented on how neat and clean the work was done during his final inspection. Ryan had great communication and follow up with me. I highly recommend Mitchell and Sons Roofing!

Never repaired roof correctly, did not honor contract and won't return calls.
Paid over 11k to have new roof put on my home, a new 4" panel metal roof and 2 headers to support it back on 7-23-18. They came in a fair amount of time to complete the shingle roof but left a gaping hole over my porch between the home and the pool cage for 2 months telling me the metal roof was on back order. They told me numerous times they would call me back but failed to. Even had an employee expose himself to my neighbor while doing the shingle roof. When they finally came to do the metal roof 2 months late, the roof they put up is not 4" pan roofing, it's like 12". They also only installed 1 header when it clearly states 2 in the contract copy I have. The roof has leaked like crazy since day 1 and I have called over 15 times to get a resolution but the mailbox for voicemail is full or they say the owner will call me back but they fail to return my calls 90% of the time. They have been out 3 times in the last 10 months to try and fix it with spray adhesives and flex seal and assure me it is fixed but it is far from fixed! My roof is much worse than before and now they avoid me reaching out. I was again stood up today on a call from the owner. My roof job was boyched. They even ruined a TV that I was supposed to get reimbursed for but that never happened either.

Desired Outcome

I want my roof repaired like the agreement/contract states. I want my brand new roof to not be leaking so badly that it is a fire hazard amongst other hazards. The roof must match what is written on the agreement and is expected not to leak.

Mitchell and sons (which I was told no sons working for him). Put two flat roofs on my home. They put nails that rust, they put the widows walk railing back on, not only is it just thrown up there and not square at all, they put nothing underneath the railing! They just screwed it into the roof! With nothing underneath. So, when it rained, the rained poured down my walls and into my house and carpet!!! They have come back trying to fix it a few times. Still leaks. They do not know how to put a roof in from what I see! I paid them to destroy my house! Now, he will not contact me. Not a good company!!!!

Specific Details:
Just before December 22, 2016 my roof developed a leak in the rear second floor bedroom. Water was entering the house and dripped from the ceiling and walls. I contracted with Mitchell And Sons Roofing, LLC to repair the rear bedroom leak, to also include an inspection and correction of all airvents, and to fix/patch up all areas where solar panels are attached to the roof surface.

Approximately 9 months later, August, 2017 the same leak became noticeable in the ceiling, wall, and rug areas creating interior water damage. After, literally, more than 25 phone calls to mitigate leak damage, someone other than the Receptionist, Allysa or Crystal called me back to setup a viewing. This took 5 weeks from my first phone call. They were more interested in generating new business, I was told by the receptionists, after a hurricane had moved through the Tampa area. Warranty work seemed to be put on hold no matter what damage it continued to cause. Jeremy, their leak, specialist finally came out a week later and went up on the roof to assess the damage. He completed some repairs; I do not know what he did for I am too old to go up on a roof. He was there all of 20+/- minutes. It seemed like the leaks might have been fixed, but that winter and spring was a dry one; not too much rain fell. So, how could I know if the leak was fixed? I left the area and returned to another residence up north in Virginia for work. I travel for work a lot and cannot monitor a leak closely. I have to depend on reputable workers to do as they say. When I returned to the house in August, 2018, I found the same leak in full force with damage to the ceiling, wall, and carpet areas.

As soon as I noticed the water damage, I called the roofing company and spoke to Allysa and described the problem. She said she would get intouch with Mr. M. to contact me and set up a time to come out to view the leak. I called the company 5/6 times last week. Again, I was told they would call me back with an appointment time to come out. Then, the last two calls I made were not answered; so, I left messages for them to contact me. On the last call, I asked for a phone number so I could send in some pictures of the damage to save them some time. I received no call back. That is when I decided to contact you. The company is very unprofessional and is avoiding my calls thinking I will vanish.

I have been extremely patient, but it is time that either the leak is fixed correctly or Mitchell And Sons Roofing, LLc should refund my $1,648.00 for a job contracted and not completed as promissed, (according to our contract and Mr. M's vocal reassurances). Then, I can hire a competent roofer to complete the repairs correctly.

Please intercede on my behalf to mitigate this unnecessary situation before I am forced to take additional measures to correct this problem. I have borne the brunt of all the interior costs, to date... to plaster, tape, paint, and have the rugs cleaned after the leak reoccurred, and now today, as well. The house is only 13 years old. It has a 50 year under-roof with cement tile covering. The roof is in excellent condition except for the leak. The attic insullation is 16 inches deep in the ceilings, so water can easily be absorbed for sometime before it shows up as a visible leak.

Desired Outcome

I am not confident Mitchell And Sons Roofing, LLC is capable of fixing the leak. And, I cannot afford to keep repairing the interior space from the water damage. I want a full refund of $1,648.00 to hire another roofing contractor to complete the repairs correctly. If Mr. M. refunds the full moneys paid, now, I will not look to make claims for damages caused by the continued water penetration into the house. Otherwise, I will have no other choice but to avail myself to all legal means to be made whole.

We completed repair in December 2016. He called in August of 2017, stating there was a leak, we went out to the house, and completed a repair even though it was not in the original area, we did new repair at no cost to client. We give a (1) Year warranty on all repair jobs. We just spoke to Mr. on Sept 18th stating he still has leak, we made an appointment with him to come out this Friday for new appointment. DId not mention a charge or the fact he was out of warranty. Was willing to speak with him at appointment and discuss some options. DO not understand the need for this complaint.

MR MITCHELL'S ACCOUNT IS ONLY PARTIALLY CORRECT BUT NOT VERY ACCURATE NOR COMPLETE. HE LEAVES OUT TOO MANY DETAILS ABOUT HOW HIS COMPANY OPERATES. MY COMPLAINT TO YOU IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. I AM A VERY HIGHLY EDUCATED PROFESSOR; I AM VERY ACUTELY AWARE OF MY INTERACTIONS. HE LEAVES OUT MANY PARTS OF OUR DEALINGS, AND "HIS" ACTUAL ATTENDING TO THE LEAK. MR MITCHELL NEVER SPOKE DIRECTLY WITH ME AFTER HIS FIRST ATTEMPT AT CORRECTING THE LEAK ON THAT VERYFIRST DAY. HE ONLY CAME OUT ONCE. HE HAD HIS RECEPTIONIST OR WORKMAN SPEAK WITH ME... EVEN WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH HIM DIEECTLY. HE DID NOT DO A NEW REPAIR AT ALL AFTER THE LEAK CONTINUED... HIS MAN, JEREMY, FOUND THAT THE ORIGINAL REPAIR JOB, TO CORRECT THE SOLAR FOOTINGS AREAS, WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY. THESE FOOTERS WERE INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. HE PLACED A COVERING ON THIS AREA(S). THE LEAK IN THE HOUSE IS IN THE SAME PLACE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN. IT HAS NEVER BEEN CORRECTED AND CONTINUES TO LEAK. IT IS LOCATED IN THE REAR BEDROOM CORNER AREA.

I AM SORRY TO SAY I DO NOT HAVE MUCH TRUST IN THIS COMPANIES ABILITY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM, THOUGH, WILLING TO MEET WITH MR MITCHELL ON FRIDAY, AS I MENTIONED TO HIS RECEPTIONIST. BUT, I BELIEVE MR MITCHELL'S ATTITUDE IS POOR AT BEST TO RESOLVE THE LEAK SITUATION. I WILL GIVE HIM A LAST CHANCE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM RIGHT. BUT I AM NOT GOING TO CLOSE THIS COMPLAINT OUT UNTIL HE CORRECTS THE LEAK. I BELIEVE HE WILL NOT COMPLETE ANY WORK IF HE IS LEFT TO HIS OWN ACCORD. I TRIED "NICE", BUT THAT DID NOT GET ME ANYWHERE. I received a phone call to set up an appointment with Mr.M. to come out only after the company was contacted by the Revdex.com. It was for Friday, September 21, 2018 between 11-12 pm. Alysia was to call me just before he came out. I have not heard from anybody at the company, yet. Mr. M. never spoke to me over the telephone or has called me. He has not shown up at my house for our appointment. He is a no show.

As I explained here several times the leak has never been corrected. The rear bedroom has leaked since their original work was done. It was never been corrected. The ceiling and walls were wet, today, since last night's rainfall.

The paragraph written on September 19, 2018 is a fabrication and I never speak to people as was stated. I am always courteous and never assume things. I stick to the facts. All Alysia and I discussed was when would someone come out to see the leak damage. I was told they would call me, but, no phone call ever came until your organization stepped in. What was stated in the 19th's paragraph is not logical. It makes no sense.

Finally, as I mentioned earlier, in a response, I am not of the belief that Mr. M. has any interest or intent in correcting the leak problem. In the past, when I tried to get intouch with him he could not find the time to contact me back by telephone. This was during a 6 week period of time. I literally tried to reach him more then 30 times, then, Recently, at least 5 times to date... with messages, too. I am sure the company has copies of my messages left on their phone for them. Have them provide the phone messages; you will hear for yourself how I speak and deal with people.

As it stands, I want the Mitchell and Sons, LLC. Revdex.com file to continue to contain this complaint in it, so that anyone thinking of using this company can read who they are dealing with. The reason for the Revdex.com is so customers and companies are not taken advantage of in there future dealings. Thank you for your help thus far.

We have tried to reach out to mr *** To reach a resolution however, he is refusing the services and insisting on us refunding the money he paid. We will still be willing to send a rep to look at what is going on, but can not do so without authorization from the homeowner. At this point we have done all we can do but he continues to refuse work and slanders the company.
