I hired this person based off of our initial meeting, he gave me an estimate and seemed qualified, and diligent for the work. The first estimate was $1700. I sent him $800 deposit on PayPal that was froze because he was using a different email. The next day he asked for cash (for supplies) so I have him an additional $200 in cash. He did 2 hours worth of work and left for the day. The next day, he gave me a new estimate for additional work of $1400. I then gave him $700 in cash. Again, he worked for 2 hours then left for the day. The next day he was supposed to come in the morning and never showed up, when I texted him asking when he’ll be there he said “I think I’ll take the day off” That’s when I researched his company and found bad reviews. Not 1 good experience from anybody. I had him call me in the morning and when he did, I told him I didn’t want to continue with him. I offered for him to keep the $900 in cash that was given to him ( for 4 hours of work) and for him to send me $800 back on PayPal. He didn’t agree to this and was clearly upset. He came up with excuses, and told me how good his work is and that those bad reviews weren’t his fault. At that point he ignored my texts and calls for the rest of the day.
BEWARE!!!! Owner stole $35,000 from my elderly family member and never finished work! STAY CLEAR!!!
I hired *** Longoria, LLC to remodel a ¾ basement bathroom. The work involved partial demo of drywall (wall/ceiling) and removing/replacing fixtures, wood trim and floor tile. The work was halted shortly after the existing fixtures and some of the drywall were removed because the contractor believed that there was mold on the drywall and studs though there was no visible evidence of it—he had already cut out the contaminated pieces but alleged it was still there. He came to my house three different times to saturate the building materials with a “mold killer” chemical that affected my family and me. When I brought this to *** attention, he half laughed and told me to stay out of my basement or move into a hotel until the work was completed. He told me that he would continue to spray the chemicals “as long as it takes for the mold to come out.” When I challenged him about the chemical usage and his procedures, he lost his temper and yelled at me. My 3-year old son was upstairs and was very upset when he heard the commotion. At this point, I would have fired ***, but I had already paid him $1900 for a job that had just started. The next time *** came to my house he took it upon himself to treat for an alleged sewer water contamination leak. He used a mold cleaner to treat my wall and ceiling cavity with it. Shortly after he left, my son and I started coughing. I went downstairs to determine the cause and found the empty chemical bottle he had brought with him that morning on the floor. He had covered the door with plastic, shut the door and opened the bathroom window. The problem with opening the window is that it didn’t allow fresh air into the space because the window well is covered. Additionally, *** didn’t cover the supply vent leading into my air duct. *** continuously tried to push me into adding change orders for unnecessary work, yelled at me and put my family’s health at risk so I decided it was best to fire him and hope that I can recover my money from him.
