I brought my chihuahua in for booster shots, teeth cleaning, and nail trimming. I got her back with a broken jaw and [redacted] toes.
After explicitly being told "no extractions" a technician (not the vet) picked up an extraction tool and dug it under one of my dog's teeth. Despite being stopped before removal could be completed, they heard her jaw crack as a result. They cut 3 out of her four feet down past the quick, which is ridiculous, as my dog's nails are all clear. You can easily see the quick. The nails were jagged and [redacted] when I got her back.
The clinic did not charge me for the resulting xrays, wiring job, and pain medication now necessary, but weren't shy about charging me for the rest of the visit. Any decent person would comp a disaster of a visit like this, but not these women.
My family member was mangled by these people and the most I got was a shaky "sorry". I have more questions about what happened, but since then I have been kept waiting in the lobby until I had to leave and kept waiting on the phone until I hang up. The vet refuses to speak with me about my dog and her case again. They are definitely dodging me.
Every lawyer I speak to says this is certainly a case of veterinary malpractice, but since there's no multi-million dollar payoff at the end, they are simply not interested in taking it.
This is justice for our furry family members. I am disgusted.
