Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Complaint: [redacted]The business has responded with false statements regarding this issue.Perhaps the only truth to the response was my earnest statement that I will do everything possible to share my experience at Luke Wester Automotive with the Revdex.com, and other mediums. This business unnecessarily replaced my starter, charging me hundreds of dollars for a repair that was not needed.  The level of trust that I have for this company is almost 0, so I have no reason to believe that they performed the transmission service. However, if they are willing to refund me the cost of the starting motor + labor, then I will be willing to drop this matter.  They do not seem to realize that every lie that they tell will only come back to harm them. But to show that I am a reasonable man, I will wait a reasonable amount of time for LWA to respond to this email before sharing these new lies with my community.  The Revdex.com seems to be interested in resolving this issue, and I hope that it can be resolved without further stress, or loss of business.  Just a few of many inaccuracies in the first LWA response:1. That I called for weeks before the repair asking about starters. -a blatant lie.  And i'm not sure where they came up with that, aside from desperation.  2. That I stated that batter cables were replaced. -this is what I think thery are most embarrassed about..  The truck was towed there to have the battery cables replaced.  When my truck would not start, I had the battery tested and the battery turned out ok.  So I quickly cleaned the battery posts and bought new terminals, and it still didn't start.  The worst part is that a proper battery post cleaning was ALL that the truck needed.  I didn't clean the posts well enough, and that is why I had no power to the starter.  But at the time, I thought it needed new battery cables which is a chore I had no time to perform.  I had my truck towed to LWA after business hours for new battery cables; and its mind-numbing to hear them claim that I stated the cables were already replaced.  The next morning I speak to LWA about changing the battery cables, and they say it's the starter.  (This being the first conversation we've had about starters, so they clearly are lieing about me calling for weeks before asking about starters. <really, really pathetic>).  I immediately doubted that the starter was the problem so I did not authorize service.  I called back and asked them why they thought it was the starter, and they quickly and condescendingly replied "we know its the starter!"  They gave no justification, so I still did not authorize service.  I expressed my suspiscions that the starter was fine, and that the problem was a connection before the starting motor.  They continued to condescend, I still did not authorize service.  I called Toyota service, and they also doubted it was the starter.  However, Toyota service also told me that their starting motors rarely fail, and the part is located deep under the vehicle's hood.  They told me that the labor cost alone just to get to the part and properly test it would be very expensive.  So I decided to trust that LWA had properly inspected everything before the starter, and reluctantly authorized service.  In hindsight, it's peculiar that they were able to properly test my starting motor which Toyota service claims is a difficult part to reach in such a short amount of time. The vehicle was towed to the shop with new terminals loosely attached to the battery posts.  When reconnecting the battery, the repair man probably loosened some corrosion on the posts and was able to get a connection, and a start. I doubt that LWA tested my old starting motor, and were probably just happy that it started. But it started because they loosened some corrosion that inhibited the previous connection, not because they replaced the starting motor. Weeks later the same problem occurs where I have no power to the starting motor, and battery is fine.  Thoroughly cleaning the corrosion has fixed the problem, and it has not reoccurred since doing so properly. If LWA wants to change a customer's starting motor, they must properly evaluate everything beforehand. This is why I feel that I deserve my money back, and I now also want an apology for insulting my integrity in this rightful complaint. LWA has made a mistake, and then decided to play silly games instead of owning up to the mistake.[redacted]: as I've said all along, we will do the right thing in this matter. If you do not do the right thing by apologizing and returning my money, I will do the right thing by truthfully sharing this experience in a very broad manner.Regards,[redacted]
