Review: I signed up in May 2012 and signed a 2 year contract. June 2014 I called to attempt to inform them I would not be renewing my contract in May 2014. They proceeded to bill me for May, June, July , August, September, November. I have canceled with them 3 times already. They problem is they don't give you any proof you canceled. They tell you when you call to fill out an online form. After filling out that form you press submit and the page goes away, no confirmation number no nothing. I'v tried wrorking with the people at the gym and all they tell me is call the phone number. When I call the phone number they tell me I must have not filled out the form correctly. I run a nursing home department I am not an it. They keep giving me the run around.Desired Settlement: I want my money back, I have not used their services after contract expired and have made several attempt to get them to stop billing me.

Review: I joined Lucille Roberts during the summer on May 29, 2014. I went in person to cancel my membership right before my August payment was due since I knew Graduate School was starting soon and I wasn't going to be using their services as often. The woman at the desk explained to me how I can cancel my membership on line. I went home immediately, did everything she said and canceled my membership. On August 29, 2014 and September 29, 2014 I was billed about 14$ by Lucille Roberts. When I contacted Lucille Roberts about this [redacted], the customer services representative, informed me that he submitted a 1 month notice for cancellation and that I will be billed one last time for the month of October. In an email I wrote to [redacted] that I canceled my membership 60 days ago and should not be getting billed at all anymore. I waited a day but unfortunately received no response. I emailed customer service about 3 more times, but still haven't received a response. I have a screen shot of all of my memberships ever opened with Lucille Roberts. My recent membership is not listed there, which gave me the impression that it had already been canceled.Desired Settlement: I would like the money refunded to my debit card.

Review: I signed up for a free week at lucille roberts. I never went to begin my free week, so it should never have started. Last week I got a bill in the mail for about $100 from the gym. I tried to look online to find someone to call, and could not find any phone number. It was also impossible for me to cancel my "membership" until I had my membership ID- which I did not get until I received the bill. I still have yet to make contact with someone who could help me. I submitted a complaint to their customer service online, but have yet to hear back. If you call the local gym, they tell you to contact the headquarters... which is seeming impossible. I am frustrated that I cannot talk to a human being about my issue, and their shady ways of trapping you into a membership that I could not cancel until I already owed them $100.00.Desired Settlement: Clear the bill. Do not ruin my credit.

Review: Lucille Roberts advertises a "no contract" membership. However, this is false advertising, as they do have specific terms to their membership, which I do not remember contracting myself to. My last visit to this gym was in September, and I did not plan on returning in October. I asked the assistant manager to cancel my membership, and after convincing me to remain a member, she did some typing in the computer, and told me that my membership no longer existed.

Now, after checking my online bank account in January, I see that I have been charged for October through January. (I understand that not checking my statement was my own fault). Outraged, I called the branch Saturday, 1/31/15 in Jersey City to complain, and they were absolutely deplorable in their manner of assistance. They told me it was impossible someone cancelled my membership in person, and that they could not assist me over the phone. Memberships are only cancelled online. I found this unusual, seeing as that I never had an online transaction with them, and did not even have an online account. The woman was very rude and hung up on me. When I called back someone told me the person I was just speaking to went to lunch (at 10:30 in the morning, and they open at 9:30) and that I could call back tomorrow. She said she had a long line, I asked her to put me on hold and she said their phone does not even have a hold feature.

I went directly to their location 20 minutes later, to find a practically empty gym. Assistant manager gave me a non working email link to cancel my membership. I sent 4 emails and received 4 failure messages, THROUGH THE DIRECT FORM ON LUCILLE ROBERTS WEBSITE.

Called their customer support number. Spoke to Cassandra, who was extremely nasty. When I told her I have a NO CONTRACT membership, I should be able to cancel anytime, she told me disdainfully I must give 30 days notice. I told her that IS a contract. Her response?

"Yeah, I guess so."

I ended up paying for Feb 2015.Desired Settlement: I was told the last time I swiped into LR gym was Sept 8, 2014.

Seeing as the gym preaches no contract, however, does technically require you to give 30 days notice before leaving this is in fact a contracted agreement.

I believe this is false advertising, and I want my money back for every month I did not attend this gym, yet they profited from me anyway.
