Review: I gave the owner [redacted] a 12,000 check payable to L&M builders to start a project on my home on December of 2013. He NEVER showed up to do any work and his number is now changed ... Please help catch this crookDesired Settlement: I would like my money back

Review: I hired L&M Builders to install a concrete floor in my 30' x 40' pole barn at a cost of $6500. Upon completion of the project, the results are unsatisfactory. The garage doors have gaps where they do not meet the floor. The floor is uneven, has swirl marks and shoe prints. The concrete on all four sides of the pole barn is not finished (no trowel used - it is rough). No expansion joints were cut into the floor (even though it was stated they would be cut by the contract). The 3'x8' pad at the rear garage door is not properly broom finished. The floor at the front of the pole barn is heavily spalled and discolored. The 3'x30' pad in from of pole barn has sharp edge instead of being rounded over and is already chipping. There is no joint cut between the main floor and the aforementioned front apron (it is all one pour). I have attempted to call the owner and have sent multiple e-mails to his daughter with pictures attached. I have received no return phone calls or e-mail. My last e-mail requested a copy of the warranty info (supposedly has a 5 year warranty on the floor but I was never given a written copy to see terms and conditions) as well as a $1,500 refund so that I may undertake my own corrective actions with another company as L&M Builders appears to have walked away from the project with no regrets.Desired Settlement: I desire a $1,500 refund from the $6,500 paid for the job. This will allow me to hire another company to attempt to correct the deficiencies.

Review: I have a signed contract with L&M Builders to build a detached garage at my house for a total price of $34,9000. I gave them a check for an initial payment of $9,900 on August 29, 2013. All I have gotten is excuses for not starting construction until the weather turned bad, and now I cannot get in touch with them via any of their phone #s of email. I am now convinced this company is nothing more than a bunko operation defrauding everyone that makes the mistake of dealing with them.Desired Settlement: I want my $9,900 back, and for all persons involved with the company to go to jail.

Review: L& M Builders, run by [redacted] has accepted in excess of $300K from me for the construction of my retirement home. , He performed $150K worth in building the house and has now quit showing up for work. He doesn't answer or return phone calls. My house is only half-finished. This guy should be locked up.Desired Settlement: He has been replaced by a reputable contractor and I would like my money back. As I think there are quite a few people already trying to put liens on everything he owns, I figure my chances of getting anything back is slim. I would also like to make sure this guy is out of the house-building business. He is a thief and a liar.

Review: Hired L&M Builders in Jan 2013 to side my house with vinyl siding. They stripped my house and left me without siding for 3 months. Then they bait and switched the siding that was in the contract to a different siding, saying that they could not get the original siding. Finally, they had my house sided in August 2013 after many tries to get them to stick with the 2 week timeframe they originally quoted. Upon completion, I was informed the siding was installed incorrectly by the siding manufacturer and that there was no warranty because of this. L&M agreed to redo the siding because they knew it was incorrect. In early October they ripped all the siding off of my house and left. They have not been back to my house since. I am left in the middle of winter with no siding on my house after paying them over $17,000. There were also many changes to the contract that I did not authorize and that there are no existing change orders for. They have committed consumer fraud.Desired Settlement: Would like my money refunded.
