Ken's Quality Kars Reviews (2)

On June 6, 2013, Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500--NOT on September 19, 2013 as was stated in his complaint. (The original purchase agreement is attached to this response for proof and clarification.) At the time of purchase, the outstanding balance was $8,011.65. Mr [redacted] was...

unable to secure a bank loan due to credit complications. Because he had been a previous customer, I agreed to accept payments of $1,000.00 every two weeks, as requested by Mr. [redacted]. The final payment was due on September 26, 2013.
Payments of $1,000.00 each were made on 6/12, 6/26, 7/13, and 8/12 totaling $4,000.00. Between August 8 and November 16, Mr. [redacted] made one payment of $500.00. From this point forward, I had to -unfortunately for both of us- make multiple phone calls and even go to his home to get any amount of money. On April 10, six and a half months AFTER final payment was due on the vehicle, Mr. [redacted] still owed Kens Quality Kars $1,711.65. An order to repossess was issued as no attempt to pay was being made by Mr. [redacted]. The 2004 Dodge Ram was returned to him after he made a payment of $1,100.00 on April 12, leaving a balance of $611.65 plus the repo fee of $400.00, leaving him with a balance of $1,011.65- (which Mr. [redacted] promised to pay by April 26, 2014).
This truck came with a 3 month/4,500 mile warranty, which Kens Quality Kars purchased FOR Mr. [redacted]. Any work that needed to be done on the vehicle between June 6 and September 6 should have been covered by this warranty if Mr. [redacted] submitted the appropriate paperwork. Also, this truck is used for a commercial business which entails towing a trailer with a backhoe and trailer of pilings. Repairs should be expected.
And finally, Mr. [redacted]'s claim that I tried to extort triple the amount of the purchase price is inflammatory and insulting. I believe I now know why Mr. [redacted] could not secure a loan anywhere else.

Review: This business has never established a payment date..... no payments was never established on what date the payments should have been made after several calls to their office and no response back I was in fear that they would come and repossess my truck they finally answered their calls and I explained why I wasn't notified about when I could come in to make a payment he responded don't worry come the next following business day and you can make a payment so we both agreed on the amount and date as to when I should show up at their office in Toms River to make my truck payment ...This all occurred on the Thursday morning , that same day about 2 hrs later I come home to find my truck gone ...they had repossess it while I was out ... when I called to find out what happened to my truck the dealer started to extort me out of money .. he told me that if I wanted my truck back I would have to give him triple the amount of money that the original deal was or he was taking it to the auction I was really upset about what he did extortion?......I am very disappointed in the way I was treated and called names on top of it this car dealer shows very poor behavior towards customers, also if the truck is their's to repossess then why would they not be responsible for the mechanic repairs that I have made on this truck , they basically sold me a lemon and extorted me out of money ...I want my refunded money back for the repairs and also I will not be paying for the tow company which they hired to tow this truck to their shop. I have receipts to prove all the mechanical repairs that have been done .. THIS TRUCK WAS A LEMON!Desired Settlement: At this time with all the adjustments and repairs that I have made I should get my title and I should not own him anything.
