KCB Developments

I purchased and moved into a KCB Developments newly built home in Oct 2012. In the summer of 2013, I was having issues with the garage floor as it was crumbling and falling apart. KCB Developments agreed to fix and replace the garage floor. This was done sub-satisfactorily but my concerns and complaints over the damage that was created by replacing the floor were ignored. In March of 2014, I noticed small areas of crumbling again on the garage floor and immediately tried to contact KCB Developments to make them aware of the problem happening again. I have attempted to get into contact with KCB Developments 8 times since March 18, 2014 and have received no reply or response to this issue.Desired SettlementI would like my garage floor replaced again and to fix this issue once and for all. I want to incur no expense to have the items removed from my garage and stored while such work commences to replace the garage floor.Business Response [redacted] the floor was properly replaced under the one year warrenty that KCB provides. The reason why the floor was cracking and spaling the first time was due to the excessive salt and snow build up on the floor. That explaination came from the original concrete supplier and another source. At that time they both agreed that this shouldn't be covered under warrenty due to the lack of home owner maintanence of removing excess water(from snow and ice). To keep the customer happy we agreed to replace the floor one time at no cost to the home owner. That work was completed and we recommended they do not drive on the garage floor for 20-28 days and also suggested they concrete seal the garage floor to prevent this from happening again. Approx. 1 year after the floor was fixed I received 8-10 text messages from the home owner and did not reply because I told her that she needed to contact me by phoning not texting. Unfortunetly garage floors are never covered under warrenty due to the Province we live in. up keep is needed and our company will not be fixing the floor a second time at our expense. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] The garage floor was indeed properly maintained as it is inside an enclosed garage and had no salt and NO snow build up whatsoever. It is completely enclosed, so how could it have excessive salt and snow build up? In fact, the explanation that I was given by the concrete supplier was that I must have gotten a "bad batch" of concrete. The explanation that I received from [redacted] as well as his employee [redacted] was that the concrete supplier must have used too much water in the concrete. This was also the opinion of a third party that I had look at the floor who is willing to give this explanation in writing. At no time was anything ever mentioned about this being a "one time" fix. If the floor was replaced, then the warranty should recommence with the newly replaced floor. Also at no time was I informed that [redacted] would only communicate through a phone call and in fact, during my home build experience, I was encouraged to text as he could not always answer his phone. I chose to text so that I would have a paper trail of my attempted communication with [redacted]. I request my garage floor to be repaired. [redacted] has not even looked at the floor to make a proper assessment of the damage. [redacted]
