Kare Construction Reviews (2)

We hired Kare Construction to perform approximately $50,000-$60,worth of work on our house after we suffered a flood that made our house inhabitableEric and his company were recommended by a colleague and we requested a quote from him
I believe that Eric is very committed to quality when he is performing the work himself, and would I would recommend him if he was doing the workFor example, he did an excellent job at laying tile in our kitchen as well as laying new wood floor in our living room, and I believe that he either did this work himself or was present when the work was being doneHowever, he lacked the ability to manage a large project that involved managing other individuals
Overall we are not satisfied with the work that Eric's company performed and we have been unable to have him fix our stair spindles, even though he said he would return to fix any problemsSafety for our young child was our primary concern and we did not ask him to fix anything else
The portions of the house that he agreed to paint were done poorlyThe incorrect paint was used and as a result, we needed to some of the painting after only one yearFor example, the taping from the sheet rock is already coming loseIn one instance, in the kitchen, there was no tapping done at all, and after a year, it is clearly visibleA year later and the spindles that were installed in our new staircase were wobbly, and one even fell out
When the laminate floor was removed, we discovered all of the original wood was still preservedWe contracted with Eric to sand, stain, and varnish the floorWe came home to find stain splattered on some walls and ceilingsIn addition, only one coat of varnish was applied, and from my understanding it is best practice to apply at least twoOur floors appear to be bubbling, which may or may not be Eric's fault
It seemed that he felt we were taking advantage of him and asking him to do more than he agreed to performHowever, he did not verbalize this frustration until the end of the project, and used this to justify much of the sloppy workmanship that was done

Overall we are not satisfied with the work that Eric's company performed and we have been unable to have him fix our stair spindles, even though he said he would return to fix any problems. Safety for our young child was our primary concern and we did not ask him to fix anything else.

The portions of the house that he agreed to paint were done poorly. The incorrect paint was used and as a result, we needed to re-do some of the painting after only one year. A year later and the spindles that were installed in our new staircase were wobbly, and one even fell out.

When the laminate floor was removed, we discovered all of the original wood was still preserved. We contracted with Eric to sand, stain, and varnish the floor. We came home to find stain splattered on some walls and ceilings. In addition, only one coat of varnish was applied, and from my understanding it is best practice to apply at least two. It seemed that he felt we were taking advantage of him and asking him to do more than he agreed to perform. However, he did not verbalize this frustration until the end of the project, and used this to justify much of the sloppy workmanship that was done.
