Kalnitz Kitchen Reviews (5)

K-Kitchen initially installed Mr [redacted] countertops on 7/7/During this the installers called Mr [redacted] into the room to verify that the countertop was level as to his exact specifications before the seam was completedIn order to do so the installers had to put two shims underneath the countertop, one in the front and one in the backThis was done because the cabinets were not levelMr [redacted] verified that everything looked okay and gave the go ahead to finish the installationWe were then contacted on 8/18/about the issue with the cooktopThe installers went back out to the residence on 8/22/It was then revealed that one of the shims that was originally placed in the back was missing causing the countertop to be slightly offThis was done by the contractor that installed the tile backsplashWe would be happy to repair, re-seam, and re-level the countertop, however in order to do so the tile must be removed prior to repairThank you

To Whom It May Concern, We have reviewed the rejection to our response in reference to complaint ID [redacted] As of 7/17/17, which was the original date of installation, a shim was placed in the upper right quadrant between the countertop and the cabinetThe shim in question would not have been glued down, therefore there would be no evidence of "glue, caulk, or any sticky substance." In this instance K-kitchen Cocannot be held responsible for a shim being removed after they left the premisesAdditionally, a shim should not be placed between the cooktop and countertop, there should be a piece of trim that is included with the cooktop so that the glass is not resting directly on the stoneK- Kitchen does not install any appliances and should not be held accountable for a cooktop that cracked over a month after our installDue to the fact that K-Kitchen does not install, it would have been installed after we left the residenceDue to the fact that we did not install the cooktop then it is not our responsibility to install shims between the cooktop and countertopWe stand by our previous offerSincerely,K-Kitchen Co

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] I believe the shim referred to by KKitchens is the shim between the countertop and the cabinets, not the cook top and the countertop It currently (9/14/17) is not installed and I see no evidence that glue, caulk or any sticky substance was ever applied to that area (upper right quadrant) Most importantly, this shim is the responsibility of the countertop installers, not my contractor in otherwords, KKitchen neglected to install any shim in the upper right quaderant between the counter top and cooktop You do not need shims for the standard cook top to countertop joint I would appreciateyour responce to this and a re consideration of your offer [redacted]

KKitchens did not install cook top Our contractor did To reinterate, my complaint is strickly that the countertop was installed with an unsupported 3/32" gap on the right side This needs to be fixed I offered options but have heard no options from KKitchens

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] Fact # There was no shim between cabinets and countertop in the upper right hand quadurant Shim towers where you had installed shims have what looks like sticky stuff on them.Fact #There never was any shims between cook top and countertop Fact #there is the 3/32" gap I referred to earlier Fact #4, our cook top is broken.Fact #5, to fix the countertop as you offered earlier, the back splash will have to be disturbed I do not accept paying for replacement of the backsplach pieces My position is that you should fix the counter top and assume financial responsibility for all associaed expenses therein As an alternate, if you pay for a new cooktop (approx value $500), I wil lassume all installation responsibilities and would sign off on your installation as complete and adequate
