K&R was called out by the [redacted] to do a service call on 6-23-15 in the afternoon, for a no cool, their son was the only one home when we got there.  The technician took about a 1/2 hr (86.50 charge) to diagnose that the blower motor was bad and about that time was when the couple...

arrived.  The tech told the [redacted] what was wrong, found out the motor was under warranty, located the motor, wrote up the invoice and estimate to install, and removed the blower assembly to take with him in the next 30 minutes.  The estimate for the install was for labor only, since the motor was under a manufactuer's part warranty only, labor not included.  The only OEM manufactuer replacement we could find was in Buckeye, or we would have to order it and that could take 3 to 5 days to get it in.  On a 106 degree day we knew we had to go get the only part in town, we received payment for the service call and a signed agreement from the [redacted] for the $450 installation (under parts warranty only)The technician drove to Buckeye, in rush hour traffic, taking him 3 hours there and back.  By the time he got back on this side of town it was to late to install the motor, we had told the [redacted] that it might be the next morning before we could get out.  The tech took the motor assembly home with him and proceeded to disassemble the motor in order to replace w/ new one which took him another 1.5 hours, he did this so he would be able to get the [redacted] up and running faster and he would not have to do this out in the field in the heat. We now have a total of 5 hours invested in the job to get the [redacted] cooling.  The next morning [redacted] replaced the motor within 20 to 30 minutes, rechecked the unit to spec, wrote up the 2nd invoice to the amount we agreed on, received payment and was on his way.7 days later we get a call from Mr. [redacted] complaining that his bill was to much.  I explained to him the breakdown of pricing:         $86.50       service charge     $ 315.00      flat rate for warranty motor replacement     $ 135.00      travel time to get OEM partNever did he state he should only have to pay the $86.50, charge.Meanwhile we receive notice from my bank that 2 checks came back NSF, it took me a good 1/2 hour to find out that it was the [redacted] checks.  I called the [redacted] to let them know, they said no problem they would send out another to cover the amount.  They had another opportunity to ask about a reduction in their bill, but never said anything.  I did, however, mention that I would waive the bank fees K&R would incur. We received the full amount for the 2 checks.  A few weeks later we now have received this complaint from Revdex.com.  I talked to both [redacted] and [redacted] on 7-22-2015 offered them the 135.00 travel expense minus the 40.00 bank fees back to them, they declined, Their comment was "we would like to see how much Revdex.com can get back for them."[redacted]K&R Refrigeration

Called K&R on Sunday 8-9-15 at 3:30 pm with an out of service A/C unit. They sent
a technician out and we were back in business by 5:30pm. This was great service,
especially for late Sunday afternoon. The tech was informative, professional, and
friendly. Our experience with K&R was outstanding. I would recommend K & R to
anyone. A very positive experience!!!

K&R refrigeration quarantees and honors its work and integrity, that is what has kept us in business for over 30 years. While our preventive check ups are to help prevent break downs and maintain your A/C equipment, which we highly recommend, it is not a quarantee that the unit could...

not have a malfunction.  The unit is a machine and there are many different parts that could cause the machine to not cool.

I can understand [redacted] frustration when his unit stopped working after 25 days of our check up, so to get [redacted] to calm down on the phone I asked him what the unit was doing and to try a couple things first.  You should always check power from the breaker and your thermostat (if it operates on batteries) first, he could not get to them on the phone so I asked him to call me back.  I was also hoping that this would calm him down a little bit because he was very angry and disrespectful.  He checked the two and called me back immediately, I told him  we could be out between 3 and 5 that afternoon, it was approximately 2:00 when he called.  He continued to be angry after I scheduled the time, and I tried telling him it could be something small like a capacitor and we can get it fixed quickly.  He then stated "that it better be because he didn't plan on paying for it".  I then stated to him "I would appreciate it, if you could be more respectful to the technician that comes out than what he had been to me on the phone, or please find someone else to go out."  He did not like my concern for my employees and decided he would find someone else.

[redacted] has 2 splits systems we checked out in August, the heater and air handler are in the attic, both were working well when my technician was there and we had no recommendations to replace any parts that looked worn.   I wish we would have had the opportunity to find out what the problem was with his unit and been able to work with [redacted], it is very hard to work with someone that is angry and disrespectful to you and your employees.

Again we did offer to go out the same day within 2 to 3 hours of the call, but [redacted] chose to call someone else.

WE HAD OUR AIR SYSTEM FAIL ON THURSDAY 6/9/16 AROUND 9PM & LEFT A MESSAGE ON K&R PHONE. WE GOT A CALL AT 6AM FRIDAY MORNING & KEN, THE OWNER CAME & CONFIRMED MY 13 YR OLD SYSTEM HAD FAILED. HE GAVE US A VERY GOOD QUOTE/ DISCOUNT ON A NEW SYSTEM INSTALLED & HAD HIS CREW WORK O.T.ON SAT THE 11TH TO INSTALL THE COMPLETE SYSTEM. AS I AM VERY PICKEY AS TO THE QUALITY OF WORK , I WAS SO VERY PLEASED WITH THE NEATNESS OF THE WORK & FINAL CLEANUP. THE TECHS ARE VERY QUALIFIED & FRIENDLY. THANK YOU KEN FOR HELPING US ON A WEEKEND!!

This company is fair, honesty and has been in business for over 30 years. They have been our A/C company for over 10 years, we had a unit installed by them 5 years ago.

Any time we have an issue they respond quickly. We had warranty work done on our Trane units and they were able to take care of us quickly and fairly.

I would recommend them to anyone.

Review: K&R Was called our because our air-conditioner was not working. They came out on a Tues. This is what they told us. It is the motor on the fan. It is under warranty. He took it with him and was here no longer than 15 min. We were told, we don't have that part in stock and I won't be back until Thurs. The temp was 106 that day. I gave him a check for $86.50 for the service call. He came back with the part on Wed. and spent 10 min. putting it in. He now told us that the balance was $450.00 and with the $86.50 service call our total cost was $536.50. This was for a motor that was under warranty and less than a half hour of work. We are within 8 miles of their service. When I questioned them on this I was told,"We had to drive to Buckeye to get the motor" That should have nothing to do with me. Having a warranty should mean we only owe for a service call.Desired Settlement: It was under warranty. The total cost should have been the service call of $86.50 Therefore, I have a refund coming of $450.00

Review: K&R represent that their tune up includes a 16pt inspection to proactively check AC units health. They came out on 8.28/2014 to inspect both my AC units and said that everything was perfect. Nothing was needed and these units looked better than most. Now 3 weeks later, my AC unit stops working. When I called [redacted], she said that these are mechanical products and they fail and that happens with cars. I told her that we don't pay companies to do preventative maintenance to have them fail less than a month later. She told me that I should find another company because she didn't like me tone. I will never use K&R Refrigeration again.Desired Settlement: I paid $119.90 for them to come out and inspect my AC units. Since their preventative maintenance didn't help, I would like a full refund.
