Complaint[redacted] was contracted to remove a dead cottonwood tree and grind stump to ground level and clean up and remove all debri. He was paid in full for $1,200.00. That was on October 16,2014 and to date have not completed the job. Tree has finally been cut down after many calls to finish job but all debri has not been removed and stump is not ground down at all. He has been contacted many many times and has made many promises to return and has even offered additional services to compensate for the handling of this but to date he has not followed through on those promises. The mess is still here. I even sent him an email on 11/11/14 advising him that unless it was completed as per agreement, I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com, file complaint for fraud with sheriff's office and write bad reviews on his website and [redacted] list and [redacted] list. He has not responded or even called to try to resolve this issue. I have kept a daily diary of phone calls and what has been said and promised. He finally just now called (11/17/14) said he would be here tomorrow and then he got very angry when asked "how was I to believe this after all the weeks of promises and no follow through" and he ended up saying that if he was going to be threatened then "go ahead and to forget it and he hung up abruptly. I called back and asked him to please call back and let us calmly and nicely discuss issue. I hired Kevin from K&A Tree Care to trim my trees on the 18th of September, we had a contract that he did not honor. He cut some low branches and said that all of our trees were unsafe for him to climb and were going to die in a year anyways. When he came to my house to give me an estimate, I would have assumed that he should have told me this information at that time. After doing 1/3 of the work promised he demanded full payment, I refused to pay until more branches were cut. He also promised to return the next day to clean up. Needless to say I had to hire another company to clean up what Kevin did not, after waiting a month. ","neg-1

Complaint[redacted], dba K&A Tree Care, cheated me out of $600. I hired him to cut down and grind the stumps of 4 trees. Three were easy. The fourth was more difficult. Unfortunately, I paid him $950 in advance. I should have known this was going to be a problem because asked me where the closest branch of my bank was. He cut down the three easiest trees, he left a big mess in my yard and I never saw him again. I called him daily for about two weeks asking him when he was going to come back and finish the job. It was always some excuse. When he did commit to come back he would not show up and would not call to tell me so. He finally told me if I did not stop calling him he would file for an injunction against me for harassment. I did not stop but he then blocked my calls so all my calls go to his voicemail. I am claiming he owes me $600 because he did about a third of the job. Because he would not take my calls and I don't know where he lives. I hired another company to finish the job. Complaint[redacted] came out and did an estimate of tree services for us on 6-3-15. At that time, he wrote out the estimate for a total of $1175.00. My husband agreed that this would be acceptable, and put down a $200.00 deposit towards the balance. It was agreed that K&A Tree Care would be out on 6-19-15 to do the estimated work, consisting of tree removal and trimming. At the approximate time that [redacted] and his crew were to arrive, he called us to cancel, saying he could not get a crew together.We agreed to re-schedule for 6-24-15, to give him time to get a crew. 1/2 hour after he was due to be here on the 24th, [redacted] again called and said he could not make it because he didn't have a trailer. He asked if we wanted him to just come out and cut down the trees, saying he would be back when he could get a trailer. We declined, as one tree is infested with termites and we were concerned about them spreading to the house if the nest was disturbed and then left. During the two conversations, we began to feel that [redacted] was unreliable, and decided to just cancel and asked for our deposit back. [redacted] refused, saying it was not refundable, and became verbally combative when my husband questioned his reliability. At no time before this did he tell us there was no refund of deposits, nor is it in the estimate/contract given. On March 21, 2015, [redacted], the owner of K&A Tree Care with his Formen,[redacted] came to our back yard and told us that the Blue Spruce, a big tree, had shallow roots and it was too tall and dense at the top to stand intense winds. It was a danger for the house and neighbors in stormy weather and recommended to be removed. I ask them how much would you charge to remove this tree with the two other small trees and their surfacing roots and stumps? [redacted] requested $400.00 cash to do the job. Next day, on Sunday , March 22/15, they came back and in a hurry they cut the trees in less than 30 minutes, taking the wood with them (leaving the yard full of debris). We paid the $400.00 cash and [redacted] said that they will return next Saturday at 9:00 am to remove the roots and stumps. We expressed our concern regarding the unfinished job. [redacted] said "I am not a person who does business this way".The next Saturday came and hours passed after 9:00 o'clock and none of them showed up.We called [redacted] asking when will they be here to finish the job as we waited half a day already. He responded rudely screaming and asking "who do you think you are, hu? you should find someone else to pull the roots and stumps out".We called the other owner, [redacted], and as he did not respond, we left a message for him requesting an explanation for such an unprofessional attitude and refusal to finish the job for which they have been paid. Then we called[redacted]. He said, "I do not work today", but I will come tomorrow, Sunday, March 29/15 at 11:00 am and do the job myself as [redacted] refuses to finish the work he took the money for. We waited all day Sunday and [redacted], like his partner did not show up.They yet to come and finish the job!Desired SettlementSince they did not finish the job, we request the return of our money. Business Response I apologize for the inconvince that this dispute has caused you. I agreed as did yourselves that the tree removal was 400.00. I said I would remove the stump for free at a later date. I should of been more responsive and articulate in when I would come grind the stump. For your inconviance I would be willing to refund 200.00 of the job. please let me know if this is satisfactory for you. K & A Tree Care was contracted to cut down three trees on our property removing all the wood and brush. Also, the contract stated that the stumps of the trees would be ground in a timely manner. The trees were cut down and the debris removed in September of 2014, but it is now February 20, 2015 and the stumps still have not be ground. Three phone calls were made to the owner with no action on their part.
