Indigo Interiors

I paid over $2600 (cost of fabric and 60% of labor costs) for Indigo Interiors to make a custom valance and custom drapes. On March 28, the drapes were delivered. There was supposed to be band horizontally across a middle seam. The band was so crooked that the owner of Indigo Interiors - [redacted] admitted the product was very poor and she would contact the fabricator she used. The fabricator picked up the drapes on Monday March 30th. I also told [redacted] that in addition to the crooked seam there was puckered seams along the edges that needed fixed. After waiting several weeks for delivery - the delivery was cancelled two or three times I wanted to know what was happening and emailed [redacted] for an explanation. She asked me to pick a new band of fabric. At that point, I was very frustrated and wanted to see the product I had paid for. I told her that I would have someone else finish the "ribbon" going over the seam since it appeared she was not able to do so. She responded with the names of people she thought could do it. What she delivered to my house was shocking. It was not a matter of just the ribbon over the seam. The puckering was still very visible and the white fabric at top that was obviously "rework" looked like a mess. I told her these were unacceptable and that she needed to refund my money. She told me she has $100 to her name and that she is broke and losing her home. At that point I asked her leave and told her I would not be paying the additional 40% because I now have to fix this mess. I took the drapes to another custom window treatment professional and the fix will cost over $1300.As for the valances, they were not made to specification, the fabric trim is crooked, the side seams are crooked, they do not lay flat, the middle is off center. In our contractual agreement - we stipulated that if the valances were not acceptable quality Indigo Interiors would refund the cost of fabric and labor.
