Hunters Glen Apartments
Sweetbriar Lane
Tyler, TX
Who is managed under:
Deibel Co., Inc
Highway West
Tyler, TX
Recently, the residents of the above mentioned apartments were unfortunate enough to receive new in-house management through the management company also listed above We have lived in these apartments for almost three years and I was in the complex for about a year ending in prior to our current residency Up until last week we have had zero complaints or run-ins with the complex personnel Former management knew us by name and was willing to do anything needed to keep our apartment in working order and their residents pleased Which is what led us to return when my husband and I started looking for apartments in Tyler again We recommended several people to the complex and have for the most part enjoyed our stay in the area despite the age of the apartment Staff and maintenance were timely and friendly making the housing arrangements desirable We have never been late with our payment nor had any negative feedback from Hunters Glen staff
However, the new management is not as friendly or as willing to help Last week we had a conflict over a package that had been delivered their offices The office hours are 8:AM to PM and often closed for lunch My husband and I both work 6:AM to 5:PM (this complex is full of working class men and women who also work 8-jobs.) Their office hours make it nearly impossible for us to get to the office so I have on many occasions requested boxes and large packages to be placed in our apartment and had received very timely response and no flack or questions asked
However, this past week (06/20-23/2016) I was met with a good deal of resistance and ultimately my husband had to take off work (i.elose hours/pay) to obtain our package (at which time I was called "mean" and former staff had apparently gone "rogue") The new management was adamant that it was against their policy to place mail in our apartment and I agree that we did sign this policy My complaint is not against their policy, though the agreement does need to be reviewed and possibly amended, but against the way we were treated over the policy This disagreement has now cost us our place of residence via a refusal to sign another contract at the end of our lease in August We were not planning to re-sign anyway, but this reaction made the decision even easier
I have issues as follows with this type of customer service:
If this was the first time I had requested a package be hand delivered to our apartment and I was told that was not permissible, I would not be irritated at all But we have had many, probably close to 100, packages delivered to the apartments by both the old and new staff and have never met any conflict until this past week If a policy is so "enforce-able," it needs to be enforced from day one not three years into a contract at random
If this package had been medicine and they refused to deliver it, the delay could have literally cost me or my husband one of our lives Same idea if it had been a legal document This package was not theirs and they refused to deliver it or assist in us obtaining it
They offered to make arrangements for us to pick up the package; however, when we attempted to make arrangement outside of their office hours we were straight up denied What is the benefit of offering arrangements if one is not willing to meet outside the time-frame already offered? We obviously struggled to be able to get to the office during office hours, but when we tried to meet after hours, we were told that was not an option
I was told that placing mail/packages in our apartment was a great deal of liability, which I deny should have been an issue after I had given them permission to do so, and in writing I might add Plus they have a policy we had to sign saying they could enter our apartment at any time if a need should arise (and on a side note, they are supposed to leave a note on the door saying they had entered and the new management does not comply)
When I asked for the management's phone number I was either ignored or denied on several occasions
When we agreed that we would not ship packages to the apartment anymore we were still denied the package being delivered, even with the understanding it would be last time to do so
In the end, my husband and I have decided that we, as their residents and customers, are obviously not valuable to them and they don't care to retain us Customers are what make a business work, lousy customer service skills and the lack of commitment to customers will result in a lack of profit We both are quite offended by the new management and would not recommend this complex to another individual But it is very irritating that they have such seco

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I DID NOT bring in a person that was to take over my lease because during all of HER, "STAYING OUT" of this situation she had informed my ex-roommate that he did not have to accept the person I picked. They were not going to come all the way to Hunter's Glen to be rejected. That's common sense. If the rental manager knew before I arrived that it was to be postponed WHY did she allow me to wait 30 minutes, before asking if I wanted to reschedule? Foolishness is why.  Also, [redacted] was in the office, she kept opening the door to see if we left, MY daughter can attest to that. There were three females in the office.
Regards,
[redacted]

Tenant did not provide 30 days notice.  Per the lease to Miss [redacted] and all other tenants, per the lease, upon expiration, the lease automatically becomes a month to month lease, if not asked to sign a new one year lease.  30 days notice is required of all tenants to receive a deposit...

refund.  I communicated this to Miss [redacted] via email and a walk through would not be necessary, she continued to ask for a walk through, which was not necessary.

Complaint: 10734094
I am rejecting this response because: After the one year lease was up there was no renewal lease presented or verbal communication between tenant's [redacted] and [redacted] and landlords/owners [redacted]. In the original lease that was signed, was a one year lease. We did not see were it stated anything about a month -to- month tenant must give a 30 day notice. [redacted] and myself understand that we gave a twenty-two day notice,  however we were good tenants and have never had any issues with any other tenants or landlord, with the exception of the mice, ants, and the landlord bombing the apartment when we had our newborn baby and a toddler, which I did notify her that we had a newborn when we put in the request for pest control. With the notice we gave we would have accepted if she had prorated the 500.00 deposit. Also with the walk through it was requested three times because [redacted] and myself wanted to ensure that no damages were caused upon leaving and returning the keys for [redacted] Crl Apt [redacted] Bmt, Tx.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This letter is in regards to the response from Hunters Glen Apartments regarding a complaint from [redacted].  We appreciate the opportunity to respond to Ms. [redacted]’s concerns.
Ms. [redacted] and her roommate entered into a rental contract together in December 2015.  As of this date...

(February 11, 2016) no one has entered our rental office to apply to be added to their rental contract.
I did mention to Ms. [redacted]’s roommate that there was a roommate release addendum but both parties had to be here to sign and agree to the addendum.  We did agree on a time and date for them to come into the rental office to take care of this.  Prior to the appointment Ms. [redacted]’s roommate called me and wanted me to explain to him what the roommate addendum meant.  I explained to him that the addendum would state that one roommate would release the other roommate from the contract and therefore would be taking full responsibility for the remaining contract.  I stated to Ms. [redacted]’s roommate that if there were to be any changes to our appointment to be sure to contact her as well as myself.
Ms. [redacted] did enter into the leasing office at 2:00 pm (our scheduled time).  About 20 minutes later I asked Ms. [redacted] if she had heard from her roommate.  She stated that she had not and that her phone was dead.  I offered to call him.  She agreed.  When I called was only able to leave a message. Ms. [redacted]s roommate did not show up for the appointment.
I would also like to take this time to clear up any confusion or misunderstandings.  During the span of 2:00 -2:20 pm I was conducting business with contractors for Hunters Glen.  Also the lady that was in the office was not [redacted].
I of course am available to Ms. [redacted] should she have any questions or concerns.  If you have any further questions or need further action regarding this situation, please do not hesitate to contact me at the Hunters Glen Office.
