Review: I had an appointment with Byron's Hearing Aid Center on March **, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. to have a special type of one piece molds made for my hearing aids. I told [redacted] I thought they would be the ones that will stay in my ears better than the little plastic buds I have now. Molds were made and they said they will call me when these special type of hearing aid attachments came in. These attachments were not the regular type of clear plastic small bud type. They actually have the appearance of a crescent moon with bud all part of the apparatis.They called me, gave me an appointment to pick them up Wednesday April **, 2014. [redacted], [redacted] calls me back cancels my appointment to change it for April **, 2014 at 11:30 AM. She told me [redacted] would not be there, an associate would be there to speak with me and give them to me. When I arrived the associate brought the product out to [redacted] to give them to me, I was SHOCKED to see they weren't nothing at all what I had ordered. They were no different from the ones I now have that keeps allowing my hearing aids to fall out of my ears. I strictly informed them right there on the spot THEY WERE NOT WHAT I ORDERED...!!! The associate insisted on having me go in the back room to make another set of molds of which I really wasn't sure whether they will end up the right devices. He then persuaded me to try these ones out and see how they work before paying for them. Well, when I got home, the sounds were excruciating, like Niagara Falls pounding inside my head from all the background noise. Plus, the sounds were low tone. I called back and spoke to [redacted] that very same day, April **, 2014, I informed her I wanted to cancel these hearing aid buds, they did not work and furthermore, I did not order these so I will bring them back and cancel. She said okay. Now when I returned, them she insisted I had to pay. I am not paying for them. I returned them. They decieved me with their tactics. I'm a senior.Desired Settlement: I do not want to be charged for these hearing aid devices. They are wrong and have no right to charge me for something I cannot use, have returned and they accepted to receive back in return. I told receptionist and associate not to send out the other molds he insisted on making until [redacted] came back. [redacted] said they did anyway. I have been FLIM-FLAMMED and I will NOT pay for this. She also had the gaul to say I didn't call to cancel. Contact telephone company for proof of phone calls.

This letter is in response to Complaint ID [redacted]. [redacted] filed this complaint.

[redacted] is not being charged for the mold, as it was a simple misunderstanding on her part. It was also explained to her that she would be responsible for the mold charge, as it cannot be returned for credit, which is why we tried to resolve the issue when it came back from the manufacturer incorrect.

She has not been billed, an invoice has not been sent to her, and she wasn’t verbally advised that she would be charged so I'm not sure why this complaint was ever filed. Her last words as she stormed out were that she’s a senior and doesn’t have to pay for anything.

[redacted] has no outstanding balance in this office; the [redacted] chose to write it off instead of going back and forth with her anymore regarding this issue.

As a courtesy we did the services for her on the promise that she would pay after she picked up the mold. Usual office policy is the mold is paid for in advance, as it is a non-refundable product. She was aware of this courtesy as well.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

(This matter is sufficient to me even though a couple of the statements offered by the business are misconstrued and not true, such as I'm a senior and don't have to pay. I distinctly said that I am a senior and you don't take advantage of a senior in N.Y. State)

I went to Byrons with great hesitation as I was in denial about my hearing loss and concerned of the appearance and cost of the hearing aids. Going there was the best decision I could have made, I can hear my family now! I enjoy social gatherings much more and they have a great selection of hearing aids from all different companies and fitted me with what I could afford.
