Review: I called and requested Hot Spring Spa and Pools to come and open my above ground pool and an appointment was scheduled for the day before Memorial Day weekend. I was told to leave my pump and other pool hoses outside the pool which I did. I came home from work that day after 5 p.m. and there was nothing done to the pool. The guy that was supposed to have "opened" the pool had left a message on my answering machine saying he couldn't find the equipment to start up the pool. After calling him I realized that he had gone to my neighbor's house instead of mine. This man had set up the pump to their pool, attached all the hoses and even treated the water with several types of chemicals so their pool was ready for the summer season. The pool man did come back the next morning once he found out where I lived (even though the company had my address when I called to make the appointment). He hooked up the pool hoses, added the chemicals and started running water into the pool to raise the water level so the pump could be started. After the pool was filled I attempted to turn on the pump several times but it just made a humming noise and wouldn't suck any water out of the pool and put it through the filter pump and send it back out in to the pool. I checked everything and tried the pump several times again. It's now been a couple of days since the pool was treated with the chemicals and because the water wasn't able to be filtered by the pump the water turned green. I received a bill from Hot Spring and called and told them I wasn't happy with my service. I spoke to the person who set up the opening for me by the name of [redacted]. I told her how dissatisfied I was with the service I received and that I wanted my bill lowered, that I would pay for the chemicals since they were put in my pool (even though they didn't do any good), but I refused to pay for the service and my neighbors received better service than I did. I told [redacted] that I was hoping she would understand my feelings that I didn't receive good service and she said no she didn't and that the bill stands as it is. I told her I wasn't able to even go in the pool because the pump didn't work. She said that was not part of the agreement that they get the pump working and I disagreed because the set up guy told my neighbor that a part on his pool needed to be replaced so that had done that service to my neighbors pool and they hadn't asked for any of the service. She got very angry with me, was rude and hung up on me. I called back and the store was closed. There was a phone number for emergencies and I called that number. I reached the owner and told him about my situation and how [redacted] had hung up on me. He asked me to take pictures of my pool pump and send them to him from my phone which I did. He called me back shortly after that. Apparently the pool guy who came to set things up had connected the hoses incorrectly. He told me how to fix that and then I was able to get the pump to work. The bill I received from Hot Spring is $387, the 87 was for the chemicals used and 300 for the trip from LaCrosse to Gays Mills which is approximately 50 miles.Desired Settlement: I don't believe I should have to pay anything because I received such poor service and was treated so rudely by [redacted], but I would be willing to pay for the chemicals used as they were put in the pool. I would also like an apology from the owner who I spoke to on the phone because of the mistakes that were made on their end but which ended up costing me more money to try to get my pool back to the condition it should be, I still haven't succeeded in doing that. All 3 of the people from that business made excuses for why I didn't receive the service I asked for.
