being billed for a class that I did not register for. I went to the college with the intent of registering for a class. I was not able to qualify for financial aid soI left WITHOUT registering for any class. The agent I spoke with accidentally registered me for a class.I never received notification that I registered until it was past the deadline to withdraw. The college holds the position that I am liable for the charges since I failed to withdraw. Two written and two phone callattempts to resolve this issue have not changed the college's position.The occurred in the Spring of 2011, Now four years later, the are sending me their second demand letter. The demand letter is dated [redacted] my college ID number is XXXXXXXXX-SP11. The balance due is [redacted] The college representative is Comptroller, [redacted] I have also communicated with clerks in the [redacted] office, the acting [redacted] and [redacted] the [redacted] of [redacted] I never heard back from Mr [redacted] after I wrote him [redacted]I am sending payment to the college this coming week to avoid harm to my credit rating.Desired SettlementI would like a refund, but more importantly, I would like the college to amend its policies to require astudent signature on a hard copy printout the class schedule printout and maintain records of these signatures so future consumers don't have to deal with this frustration and stonewalling.Business Response The college has responded directly to Mr. [redacted]. I have no need to take any future classes there. I want a refund. I am copying John O'Rourke, the HCC Comptroller, and Yanina Vargas (VP of Student Affairs) on this email.
