The original call was a garage door problem, i.e....
the cables were stretched and/ or broken and were replaced by our technician. Previous to our repair, the garage
door did not work manually, and now it does. This fact is proof that the repair was done properly. If we did the repair improperly or if the springs were not set properly,
the garage door would not work manually.
When the homeowner called with an additional problem with his opener, we informed him that we were unable to perform repairs on that model. His equipment was
installed under a contract with [redacted]. We no longer do work for [redacted] and therefore no longer have access to the local distributor and parts for
his opener. We gave him the company name and street name for the local company, [redacted]. [redacted] is the local distributor for these products and
they provide service for same.
The cables from his garage door are an item found on other garage doors, so we were able to supply the parts for it. However, parts for his [redacted] brand door opener
are not interchangeable with other brands.
He claims that the chain broke because we improperly set the springs and cables. Again, this is incorrect because the door works properly when manually operated. It
is entirely possible that the homeowner had previously stressed the chain by operating the unit when the cable system was damaged. We have no way of knowing how long
they operated the system while it was damaged.
Our repair was done properly and no refund will be made.
