The service was terrible and the hotel was in very bad shape. I will let everyone know if you are the downtown [redacted] are do not stay at this hotel.I stayed at the hotel May 23rd-25th and I had the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. The first night the elevator was stopping in between floors we we had to jump off. The next day the elevator actually stopped and people were stuck for 45 minutes. The bathtub in my room was stopped up. I told the cleaning lady I did not want anyone to service my room and just so happen my husband and I come up stairs to people in our room. My sisters pants came up missing while we were away from the room we called the front desk and no one seemed to care or at least apologize. Sunday the elevator was stuck again and after waiting 30 minutes with a small child I had to walk from the 4th floor all the way to the 15th floor. I am so grateful for one of member of the staff taking me down to the 6th floor on the service elevator.Desired SettlementI should get at the very least a night free. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], GMContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@hisdowntownmemphis.comMs. [redacted] was a guest with a group in the hotel. The group stayed on May 23 and 24, 2014. The last day they were here, one of our elevators did go out of order. This is the first we have heard about any additional issues this guest may have had while staying at our hotel. We made an adjustment to the guest's rate for her inconvenience which came to a total of $57.98. We apologized to the guest and to the group, and we used our service elevator to help our guests check out of the hotel. We feel we have provided adequate compensation for the inconvenience encountered by the guest. In addition to this response, we will reach out to the guest again in regards to the credit we issued her while she was still a guest of our hotel and to address any other complaints she may have regarding her stay with us. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The elevator wasn't working Friday, Saturday or Sunday, I am not sure how that classifies as my last day considering we checked in Friday afternoon. I called Saturday as well as Sunday morning to report the bathtub being stopped up. I also talked to the cleaning lady twice once about not wanting my room to be serviced (when she brought us two towels) and once about why the crew was in my room when I specifically asked them not to service the room.In addition I spoke with the lady the day of check out and expressed my frustration with the service. I will never stay at this hotel again. I will also make sure I let everyone I know not to stay here. They give the Holiday Inn a bad name. Final Business Response We apologize that the consumer does not feel that the way we handled the situation was fair, but we feel as if we have fairly compensated the guest for her inconveniences. We do not feel that any further actions are necessary to handle this matter.
