Hitt's Tree and Landscaping Service

Review: Hitt's Tree service was contracted (DEC 05 2013) for tree removal work on my property. They said the job would take 1-2 days. At the end of the first day they said they would come back to finish removing the tree the next day (DEC 06 2013). Hitts Tree service was paid in full (DEC 05 2013).When I returned to my house from visiting family for the holidays (DEC 17 2013) the work was still unfinished. When I asked Hitts why they had not finished the tree they told me: One of their workers fell from the tree and couldnt continue; the worker was ok and they just had to wait a week or so for him to be ready to climb again. I agreed to that delay. However, three weeks later (mid JAN 2014), no progress had been made. When I called for an update Hitts tree service said that they were expecting bad weather over the next couple of days and could not work until the weather improved. When the weather cleared up a few days later I attempted arrange to the tree removal.I called several times to ask when the tree was going to be removed. Messages were not returned and on the rare occasions I got a hold of someone I was told that they intended to come back when the weather cleared up. This went on until MAR 2014 when some of the workers who originally worked on the tree showed up at our house to collect equipment (ropes) they left in the tree. They informed us they no longer worked with [redacted]s and that we had to contact him to get the issue resolved.On or about APR 05 2014 I called [redacted]s and left a voicemail indicating that it had been over four months and I would consider Hitts tree service in default of the contract if work was not completed by APR 15 2014.When APR 15 2014 came and went with no response I had to assume that [redacted] and Hitts Tree service had no intention of completing the work they were paid to do and therefore defaulted on the contract.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $2500.00 which represnts the cost of removing the tree.

regarding complaint ID # [redacted] (submitted 4/29/2014) against Hitt's Tree Service. The issue remains unresolved...I have had no contact with Hitt's tree service as of 21 MAY 2014.
