Henry J. Fishman, M.D., P.C. Reviews (1)

This complaint concerns possible unethical billing practices from the office of Dr. Henry Fishman.

I contacted the above office on May 28, 2013 (see attached), but received no response.

I paid a total of $223.00 to the above office from March 2013 until May 2013.

In April 2013, I received a bill in the mail from the above office in the amount of $1.84.

On Saturday, June 8, 2013, I received a second bill for the amount of $34.32.

On March 19, 2013, I paid $210 dollars to this office to cover what I thought was my $200 deductible and an additional $10 to cover services for several allergy shots. I paid this amount because every year that I received services from Dr. Fishman’s office (since 2008) it has billed me in error on numerous occasions. The payments that I made this year were to avoid any discrepancies in billing this office could possibly make. Unfortunately, the above office continues to bill me after I have given them more than enough payment.

In April 2013, I paid an additional $10 and in May 2013 I paid $3 to ensure that no other bills would be charged to me until the appropriate time.

Despite the fact that I have paid a total of $223.00 to this office to date, the above office keeps sending me bills.

In January 2013, [redacted] became my new health care provider (it was previously [redacted]). From March until June 2013, I talked to several customer service representatives from [redacted], who gave me several different explanations as to how I should meet my deductible. In June 2013, [redacted] finally confirmed how my deductible was to be met in order for my allergy shots to drop to $2.95 per shot with Dr. Fishman’s office. Until that deductible is met, my financial responsibility is $11.84 per shot.

According to [redacted], Dr. Fishman’s office was not in a position to take money from me because my insurance does not allow any doctor’s office to accept money from me up front until after [redacted] receives a bill from the doctor’s office.

[redacted] also made several attempts to contact the above office, but was unsuccessful.

Between March and June 2013, I received a total of 7 allergy shots. Six allergy shots at $11.84 equal $71.04. [redacted] has confirmed that I met my deductible as of June 2013 which means all other allergy shots I received after this date equals only $2.95. If $73.99 is subtracted from $223, this means that I owe nothing and Dr. Fishman’s office owes me $149.01.

I am requesting that Dr. Fishman’s office refunds $149.01 to me ASAP!
