Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I called the billing department for this facility and they giving me a "reduction" from $to $They're not doing me a favor by "reducing" I need to pay what I am supposed to pay they need to correct the issue not act like they're doing me a favor In the response from heights physician group they state while at the clinic they discuss what's covered what's not covered this is absolutely not true if I were to have known this prior there's no way I would've gone through with itLike I said the doctor I was seen by was not in network with my insurance however the other in house doctor was in network with my insuranceWho's job is find out what's what? Mine ? Absolutely notThere are clearly many different plans within an insurance company, the receptionist job is to find out what's what not just let everything go through and surprise the client with a bill which they had no fault or knowledge overIf this clinic would've taken their time to carefully do their job this wouldn't have happenedMy sister and cousin both have these jobs at two different kinds of doctors and the procedure is the sameFind out if the insurance is valid and also check what the patient is covered for then discuss it with them before proceeding to see if they're okay with it not wait until after they've been seen to bill them with over times of what their co payment should have been then give them a "reduction" a reduction for what YOUR MISTAKE!? I need to pay the original $I owe as my co payment point blank re bill it with a different doctor that is in network do what needs to be done I don't know I did not asked to see the doctor I was assigned to you clearly did it on purpose to see money out of my pocket, if not out of pure negligenceThere's no need for me to pay more than my co payment for something you guys weren't careful about In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

As a patient, it is in your best interest to know if your plan is contracted with Heights Physicians Group, P.Cand its individual providers, and to understand your insurance plan benefits and your responsibility for any deductibles, co-insurance, or co-payment amounts prior to any visitYou may
have different deductibles, co-insurance, or co-payment amounts, depending on the contracted status of your insurance company. When a prospective patient calls to make an appointment, the front desk takes time to discuss payment and insurance coverage with themAs part of the cheprocess at the office, the front desk supplies the new patient with paperwork that includes a form designed specifically to collect insurance information, as well as a statement regarding payment responsibility. Once the front desk has the insurance information in-hand, they contact the insurance company to verify if patient is indeed covered by the insurance, insurance coverage effective dates, in-network or out-of-network coverage, amount of co-pay for services, deductible amountThe information given by the insurance is accompanied by the disclaimer that the information is not guarantee of paymentThis step is important because failing to do so could leave us with an unpaid claim by the insurance company after services are provided or a patient unable to pay their bill in a timely manner. In this case, the patient’s insurance was verified and we were found to be in-networkWhen the claim was processed by the insurance, they assigned the amount of $as patient’s co-insurance responsibilityOur billing company called the insurance and was informed that Heights Physicians Group, P.Cwas in-network, but patient’s physician doesn’t participateFor this reason, the physician received $as compensation for services rendered and the rest was applied to patient’s co-insurance. We understand the patient’s inability to pay the full balance for the services providedAs a courtesy, we will stop any collection attempts and request that she contact our billing office to obtain a revised, discounted bill

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I called the billing department for this facility and they giving me a "reduction" from $380 to $170. They're not doing me a favor by "reducing" I need to pay what I am supposed to pay they need to correct the issue not act like they're doing me a favor.
In the response from heights physician group they state while at the clinic they discuss what's covered what's not covered this is absolutely not true if I were to have known this prior there's no way I would've gone through with it. Like I said the doctor I was seen by was not in network with my insurance however the other in house doctor was in network with my insurance. Who's job is find out what's what? Mine ? Absolutely not. There are clearly many different plans within an insurance company, the receptionist job is to find out what's what not just let everything go through and surprise the client with a bill which they had no fault or knowledge over. If this clinic would've taken their time to carefully do their job this wouldn't have happened. My sister and cousin both have these jobs at two different kinds of doctors and the procedure is the same. Find out if the insurance is valid and also check what the patient is covered for then discuss it with them before proceeding to see if they're okay with it not wait until after they've been seen to bill them with over 6 times of what their co payment should have been then give them a "reduction" a reduction for what YOUR MISTAKE!? I need to pay the original $60 I owe as my co payment point blank re bill it with a different doctor that is in network do what needs to be done I don't know I did not asked to see the doctor I was assigned to you clearly did it on purpose to see money out of my pocket, if not out of pure negligence. There's no need for me to pay more than my co payment for something you guys weren't careful about.
