Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I agree that H and N Landscape is working to address our concerns I would, however, like to leave the complaint open until their correction have been compelted and the work accepted Regards, [redacted] ***

The work was well done as promisedThe crew was clean and politeThere was virtually no mess left behind

Ardvark has done several home improvements for us over the past five/six years The last job they did was to repair water damage to our living room ceiling, The repair work (?) was performed around September, The faulty repair left the ceiling still leaking Despite numerous (approximately one dozen) telephone calls, THE LAST OF WHICH WAS FINALLY AMSWERED, as of today, February 9, MrRobert H*** (owner of Ardvark) has still NOT SCHEDULED a repair date During my telephone conversation with MrH*** approximately two weeks ago, he advised me he has health problems and is going out of business including selling all his trucks

We first used Aardvark Custer II a few years back for our roof and siding, we had some small issues such as nails driven through internal walls but the guys they had at the time were friendly enoughWe later come to find out that they had covered over our drier vent with new roofing, something we confirmed with their own work photos given to us, by themWe have had to lay out further expense to get that sorted, not by them I hasten to addWe also used Aardvark for some internal building projects, they say they are general contractorsThey were given the contract to remodel our guest bathroom which included ripping out an old shower, rerouting a radiator and fitting new drainage for a new showerThey got their guy going on it but after he left the company on bad terms we found out via our tiler that the drainage was sub-par, with drainage going into our sewage stack which would have resulted in raw sewage backing up into the shower trayThe pipes went from large to small, almost guaranteeing thisDuring the project, the new shower drain was blocked with an old towel (presumably to stop sewage smell) and every time we used our washing machine (also using a line that Aardvark relocated for us) small amounts would leak through the ceiling, water marks are now very apparent after some timeWe called them, they said they'd send their plumbers round who have since corrected the workHowever they are not Aardvarks plumbers but sub-contractors who have not yet been paid for this corrective workThe plumbers also removed sub-par radiator/plumbing joins from 'shark bites' to correctly soldered joinsThe previous guy cut through joists to lay pipes and installed a base board heater although the plumber since told us that this type of radiator will not work with our current heating system so had to be replacedAardvarks 'new guy' first showed up as his plumber, turns out he worked for Aardvark and who has also now left after being unpaid, who asked me for more money to pay himWe called and complained obviously many times but when we finally said just leave and don't come back, they have gone quietWe stupidly paid in full and they did less than half the promised workThey have a quick turn around in staff, their long timers have walked and they over-promise and give very little customer service when something goes wrongI have heard so many excuses including how the original worker ripped them off and did our work incorrectly in spite but I know for a fact that he wasn't a plumber, just a handy man who 'gives things a go'There was no one else on the job at any time so no over-seeing or project managementI'd love for them to come back to this review and argue any of these issues but all of these points can be proven, and they know itThey have made no effort to make this better and things could have gone very wrong had we not spotted the covered drier ventSince the drier outlet has been removed the amount of lint that has built up in our small attic space is significant, this could have caused a fireI am disgusted with their workmanship or lack thereofHappy to share photos of evidence

We are still working with this customer and will be finished by the end of the week ending April26th. We have done everything they have asked.

Regards,

Review: My husband and I hired H&N Landscape to perform landscaping installation at our residence. The quality in which they have performed their scope of work has been less than adequate on many different items. Some of the items they have made attempts to fix, however, the largest issues remain outstanding. The east half of our yard was not properly leveled prior to installation of the sod. Some areas are approximately 2" low creating a tripping hazard, while other areas are low near the patio which could create ponding at the house and possible flooding in an extreme storm. The areas where trenchlines were installed were not properly compacted and have left a 2" deep channels across the length of the yard. The issue of leveling was discussed in detail on several occassions with several members of H&N throughout our process. I also have emails and text messages that can support the leveling requirement and H&N's commitment to us that it would be performed. The west side of the yard was completed to our expectations, however, the sod was delivered too early and was dying on the pallets. Sod was laid without leveling the east side of the yard.

Other quality issues include; installtion of dying plants, installation of dying sod, lack of leveling in planter areas, poor workmanship on sidewalk, lack of leveling for the curbing which was later replaced by H&N, improper wire connections at valves which were later repaired by H&N at our request. Some of the bushes have already died and need to be replaced per their 90 guarantee.

To further the issue, the company has stopped communication with us leaving us no way to resolve theses issues. An email was sent to the Project Manager, [redacted], whom was my main contact, on Saturday 3/22/14 with no response. I also tried to call [redacted] and the company owner, Tim Hassert, multiple times between Monday 3/24/14 and Thursday 3/27/14 and left messages for them both. I received no return calls. Thrusday 3/27/14, I emailed a letter to [redacted] requesting his involvement to resolve these issues amicably and noting that if I received no response, I would have to reach out to others for assistance. I received an email back from [redacted] stating that he had been out of town and he was told by the field supervisor that our concerns had been addressed. I responded that they had not and requested him to call when he was back in the office on Monday to review. I have received no calls back and have not been able to reach [redacted] this week. The only limited communication that I have had was with the field foreman via text prior to 3/27/14, where he indicated that they considered the job complete.Desired Settlement: I am willing to consider a few options:

1. I would like the sod to be removed and the yard leveled as it should have been. The sod is rooting now so it will most likely be ruined and need to be replaced if this is the accepted option.

2. Currently, I have only paid H&N half of the agreed upon amount. If they are not willing to perfom the repairs necessary, I could use the remaining funds to hire someone else to complete the scope of work. If this option is accepted, I would require an Unconditional Lien Waiver for Final Payment to ensure that there could be no confusion about the payments.
