The original ticket stated the generator would not start because the indicator light had come onHOWEVER, the motor started just fineThe generator would not start simply because of a grounding wireWhen this was realized and repaired, it DID start***, the technician who initially did the work (as *** *** *** was not the technician and evidently is not aware of what his employees do) fixed the grounding wire issue and the generator was, once again, functionalHe then realized the generator needed a new alternator and one statorHowever, *** informed me that it would be better to buy both stators to avoid having to repeat this process again next year, so I agreedFebruary 2014, *** replaced the alternator and stators and then bought a new batteryHe told me he drained the new one I had previously boughtIn the process of installing the new parts, *** specifically stated to me that he had SEIZED THE MAIN BEARING OF THE ENGINEHe put in an order to resolve the problem and told me the company would not charge me for this (which they did)
I NEVER HEARD back from H&H Electric until APRIL This whole process began in NOVEMBER Every step of the way I have had to initiate contact to get H&H to follow through with their commitmentI had planned to continue on with this whole $4,scheme but *** *** has unremittingly ignored meIn point of fact, this is the quickest response time I have ever had from *** *** since I put in an official complaint
Then to read his response that no one answered a phone call so he sent the generator back is a bit untruthful and upsetting when my wife stayed home all day long, answered the phone from *** and gave him my cell phone numberI spoke with *** that same day (yet another one of his employees he must not have spoken with), and he stated to me the generator was accidentally sent to ***, VA; that he would call me when the generator came back to ***I waited for THREE MORE WEEKS for H&H to get a generator in ***? Not ONCE was I contacted and not once did anyone return my phone callsSo whom do I believe, the technicians, both of them? Or do I believe the *** who is seemingly unaware, has refused to contact me even though I have called, left messages, went to his office, etc
In summary, if someone would actually contact the technicians, it would be made clearly obvious H&H Electric was responsible for damaging my generator yet the *** refuses to assume any responsibilityJust because a technician no longer works for the company does not mean the responsibility no longer belongs to the companyI have tried the proper chain of commandIt did not work

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
1.
They didn’t fix anything; they broke our
generatorThe engine was operational and running at the time H&H Electric
came over for the initial visit (November 2013)The items they quoted
needed to be replaced were foam seal ring, capacitor, rotor and stator, none of
which are part of the engine itselfThe engine WAS OPERATIONAL and RUNNING before the technician came overHe admitted he did something to the generator and did not know what he did wrong
2.
Since *** *** appears to be unaware of what
his service department has been doing for over ten years, then perhaps he was
unaware his technician broke our generatorHowever, I did not realize it was
my responsibility to instruct a company *** in how to manage his employeesI was
working with the good faith H&H stood behind their service technicians and
their work
3.
The fact is that he does not want to take
responsibility for his technician’s failureHe felt it quite appropriate for
his company to charge me for hours of labor for a repair that should have
taken less than ten hoursWhat did the technician do in those hours of
labor to warrant so much money when now the engine doesn’t even work?
4.
I called H&H Electric in February to dispute
the bill I had just received because I did not have an operational generator,
as the engine was no longer workingI explained to *** *** the technician
stated it was his fault the engine no longer worked and he did not know how to
fix itMy conversation with *** *** indicated they would make us a deal on a
generatorMind you, this was in early FebruaryI said okayThey NEVER
contacted me until I went to visit them in mid April out of sheer frustration
at their lack of communication and follow through on the promise of workHis offer was for me to purchase another
generator for $4,I tentatively agreed with the anticipation they would
execute the process on April because I had to leave town and I wanted
my family protectedThey canceled the appointment on the 28th with
the excuse that the generator had accidentally been shipped to ***My
wife took off work and waited at home all day long for them to arrive and
install the generator
5.
After the 28th, I never heard back
from them, which prompted me to contact the Revdex.com with the
concern that perhaps this company was attempting to not take any responsibility
for the damage they had caused to my generatorThis is the first response I
have had from them SINCE the 28th of April, despite my frequent phone calls
to their office
6.
Supposedly, the technician who broke the
generator quit the company at the end of January due to his error, so it is not
like *** *** was unaware of the events that took placeFurthermore, it is
not like this problem was a brand new occurrenceIt started in NovemberH&H Electric was most assuredly aware of the problemI know *** *** has
been personally aware since February as I went directly to his office to
communicate this pointWhile I appreciate a company might take a few weeks for
me “to be put on their schedule”, we have been waiting since November for the
generator to be repaired and since February for it to be replacedThat’s a bit
more than a few weeksIt is now June
7.
The simple fact is, we have lost faith in this
companyThey have failed us each time we have expected them to follow through
To say one missed phone call would cause them to send a generator back is a
defective and unconvincing excuse for a company that has been in business for
years
Regards,
*** ***

Dear [redacted],
In response to your letter dated June 17,2014.
We can beat this to death going back and forth.
The fact is you have never paid for any repairs and the bill is void per our discussion in February. We didn't break your generator and we have the
original ticket that states your generator wouldn't start and you had replaced the battery and it still wouldn't start.
We have and still offer to install a bigger generator for $4,200.00.
And by the way, if you are going to write about us in[redacted] please state the truth. We were not called for a simple tune up.
End of discussion.

Dear [redacted],
I have just received your letter today, 6/4/2014, in regards to [redacted] complaint. I have operated this company for 28 years, wired thousands of homes and installed and repaired hundreds of generators without one complaint until...

now. In hindsight, we should have told the customer to replace the generator, but we  were trying to save the customer money. We tried to repair it. To our disappointment we  failed after installing $1,678.19 worth of parts. My accounting department billed for our  parts and labor. I have a service department that operates without my complete  supervision and have been doing so for over 10 years. I was not informed about the  problem until [redacted] called. I called [redacted] and had a good conversation with  him. I decided to void my bill and he would not pay for the repairs since we didn't fix  anything. I also told him we would install a generator at our cost to keep us in good  graces with our customer and he had agreed to that.
On May 27,2014, we had a break in our schedule and were going to install the  generator. We picked up the generator and called [redacted] to let him know we were  headed out for the installation. [redacted] did not answer the phone so we returned the generator and waited for his call. [redacted] came by our
office that day. Only our  office manager was there and he demanded $3,800.  We are still offering [redacted] the same deal. We are very busy at this time because of our good and honest reputation to our customers and it may take a few weeks to get him on our schedule.
We are not trying to get [redacted] to pay for anything that we have done up to  this point. The $1,678.19 for parts or the 30 1/2 man hours of labor. We did not break  [redacted]'s generator. It was broken when we were called to repair it.
I am not willing to pay for anything, but I will honor my word and install a generator at my cost to him. I'm doing my best to resolve this issue with [redacted].

Review: A representative came to check our generator and see why it was not functioning to the best of its ability. We were told the foam seal ring, capacitor, rotor and stator needed to be replaced. We agreed they could continue with the repairs they deemed necessary. The technician came to repair, got it back up and running and then did something to the system which completely destroyed the motor. This whole process started in November 2013. In January 2014 was when they broke it. Now they are sending us a bill for almost $3,000.00 for their labor even though it is no longer functioning at all. We have left messages for the company repeatedly to try and work it out so they would replace the generator. We have visited their office to discuss with the [redacted]. They have made promises to come and replace the generator and installation but the last phone call we received was that the generator was sent to a site up in [redacted], that they would get back with us at a later date. It is now June and we cannot get anyone to respond back after our repeated calls to their office.Desired Settlement: 1. The cost of a new generator2. Legal fees associated with the recovery of the cost of a new generator We will find another company to install as they cannot be trusted. They promised to work with us in January when the system was broken by their technician. They informed us the technician no longer worked there after many years of employment but that information does not replace the generator they destroyed.
