H & H Diesel Service Inc Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sincerely, [redacted]

I have attached the invoice given to customer. You will note that customer was informed that engine still had a dying issue and wanted to take it home to try his own repair. Mr. [redacted] had the vehicle towed to our shop originally due to the way it was running. It was his decision to drive it...

out of here knowing it still had issues. However H&H Diesel did not handle the phone call that Mr [redacted] made after it failed very well. H&H Diesel does not offer towing, however we should have gone out to see if we could get it running and back to our facility. For this H&H Diesel apologizes. H&H Diesel will return the labor portion ($304.35) of the Invoice to make amends for our poor customer service.

Review: H and H Diesel was subcontracted to clean a fuel injection system. They told my primary contractor, [redacted], that it would be $300.00 but charged $1200.00 instead, despite being requested to notify us of any additional expense. However, instead of just cleaning the system, they unilaterally decided to re-build it which we did NOT agree to.Desired Settlement: I want the difference between what they told us and what I paid.

Initial Business Response /* (1010, 9, 2014/01/27) */

H&H Diesel received this pump from our customer [redacted] They asked for

a price before H&H Diesel had the opportunity to inspect this pump. Upon inspection it

was determined that the pump had been contaminated with Bio Fuel that had gone bad

from sitting (this is a common issue with this fuel). H&H Diesel called [redacted] at [redacted]

[redacted] to inform him of our findings. When our Fuel Shop Manager spoke to [redacted] he

asked if he wanted a Quote for repairs. [redacted] told our Fuel Manager to just fix

pump. H&H Diesel performed repairs as requested by [redacted] At no time

did we speak to the customer filing this complaint. H&H did not charge $1200.00 to [redacted]

[redacted] I Believe this issue is better resolved between [redacted] and

their customer.

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 23, 2014/03/11) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

H & H is not proposing a resolution; they are instead denying their responsibility to notify me or [redacted] that the repair was going to be more expensive than they originally told [redacted] hence me, in early December. This negligence on their part needs to be made right.

I feel they should reimburse me for the extra money I was charged due to their underestimate of the cost of repairing the pump. They verbally quoted a price for the repair, which [redacted] at [redacted] forwarded on to me, before I okayed the repair. Since neither [redacted] nor I were told at any point in time afterwards, i.e., prior to their final bill, that it was going to be significantly greater than their original estimate, I want the original bid honored. It is neither [redacted] nor my fault that H and H failed to make an accurate estimate for the repair and went ahead and fixed the pump without prior authorization of the increase. Had I known ahead of the repair that it was going to be so much higher, I might well have sought a less expensive alternative; H and H denied me of that opportunity. Such a unilateral action on their part demonstrates to me a disregard of their customers. Given the large difference between their original verbal bid and their final bill, I feel I was overcharged and that this needs to be made right. H and H's unwillingness to honor their original bid is the issue I have with them. Until this is made right, I will not do business with them again and I want everyone else who might have a need for their services to be warned of their lack of good faith towards customers.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 21, 2014/03/05) */

H&H Diesel performed this repair for [redacted] We called our customer and told them what the condition of the pump in question was ( this is not disputed by our customer [redacted] H&H Diesel repaired pump as requested. H&H Diesel did not rebuild this pump. It was disassembled all the damaged parts were cleaned to remove rust and contamination from the Bio fuel. Pump was reassembled with new gaskets and seals. Ran across test stand to calibrate. At no time was H&H Diesel in contact with [redacted] Customer. Nor should we have been. For this reason alone I do not see how H&H is responsible for the communications between [redacted] and their customer. As to the customer's statement that Bio fuel cannot go bad from sitting there is extensive information out there to the contrary. This pump did not do what is was suppose to do. So for customer to state that we did not need to make the repairs made is curious. I believe this pump is working correctly now or we would have heard from our customer [redacted]

Review: I brought my truck in to have the injection pump timed and to have the engine checked out to make sure everything was working properly. After paying 400 to have this done, I took the truck for a test drive. It worked fine for the first 10 minutes then it started surging and would not remain running. I called [redacted] to ask for help. and he asked me what I wanted him to do I ask if they can get me or my truck as I am a couple of miles away and since I am disabled, it is too far for me to walk to the vehicle that I drove there. I remind [redacted] that I'd asked the engine to be checked out to make sure it was working properly. [redacted] tells me that they have done everything that I'd asked for and he refers me to a towing company.Desired Settlement: I'd like to be refunded for the money they charged me to go over and checkout the engine on my truck. I'd also like to be reimbursed the $600 I had to pay to have my vehicle towed home.
